Just wondering what everyone uses to carry their pistols to the range.

Before I really talked to anyone or took the rpal course I bought a vanguard double pistol case. They are really nice cases but have a key lock and are not really cheap. Also not much room for anything other than two guns. I would rather get away from key locked anything and go with combo locks so I dont have a whole key ring just for my firearms, then I also cant forget the keys at home! Our club president uses an old briefcase/suitcase. His reasons being, that it is lockable, has lots of room for extra stuff like targets, tools, ammo, etc. and is not readilly identifiable as having anything "interesting" inside. I went out and found two old briefcases at a salvation army store, one for $4 and one for $6, but some ignorant person changed the combo so it couldnt be opened. I'm now looking at hard/lockable laptop cases. They have lots of room, look decent, are fairly cheap and some even come with a layer of foam. I think it would be easy and fun to custom modify one of these. So my question to you is, what do you use?

I use a Pelican case, although with locks on it, it may be obvious that there is something "interesting" inside.

What Can-down said.
They go from my safe to my car to the range to my car to my safe. The cheap black plastic MTM cases are more than adequate.

3 digit lock, shouldn't take to long to find out what it was changed too.
I have a pelcan type case, put some foam in it. Cut out spots for 6 guns, put a lock around the handle. Key is on same ring as truck key, so I can't forget it. My trigger locks are all combo locks. Range kit is same type of case and I have a 50cal ammo box to put the ammo in.

i'm pretty happy with my redhead case from bass pro, though it was a bit costly, but it has a built in lock so i like it. dual pistol case. currently using it to transport ammo.

I have 3 different old brief cases with the combo locks all set to the same number......If I can't find egg crate foam I just use a couple of old towels inside.....just keep the towels dry and don't get moisture in them.....They just happen to look like brief cases not gun cases.....wTc

I just use a stainless suitcase with combo lock latches and foam inside. I should get some new foam and cut it so it hold the pistols in place better. Where would a guy go to look for this sort of foam, craft store?

If anybodies curious there's 5 handguns fit in it, with some creative arrangement and mags stored separately and room for one more small one. Time for a snake slayer...

"...egg crate foam..." Any foam will do. So will any thickish fabric. Have fake sheepskin in mine.
"...Where would a guy go to look for..." Fabric shop. It's used for making pillows. A discount one is a bit better.
"...5 handguns fit in it..." 5 in my old briefcase too. A bit snug, but they fit.

I got one of these from WSS it's a nice case and was on sale when i got it for 32 bucks. 50 regular. 2 guns and has a combo lock

Does anyone know if the black Glock cases that new Glocks come in can be locked?

Most of the original Glock cases I have seen don't have the holes for an external lock. Have to wrap a cable lock around the handle or something if you want to lock it.
