Very Close Call

Crazy!

One of my hunters got run down by a deer. Riped his coat clean off of him leaving him covered with bumps, and bruises.

Plaid, jogging pants, baseball cap and sneakers. He probably jumped out of his truck to see how close he could get before being seen. His buddy is most likely sitting in the passenger seat of his F-350 sipping coffee with one hand and filming with the other.
Not the way I hunt, or ever will.

Almost the same thing happened to a friend's Dad here about 6 years ago but he was not as lucky. Story goes him and his two sons were driving on a dirt road and spotted a moose in a swamp. He gets out , graps the gun and goes in the woods a piece. Boys here the bang and see the moose drop. He come back to the truck, puts the gun away, waits about 20 minutes and starts to walk in telling the boys to get the atv off the truck. 10 minutes later the boys can here him screaming and look up to see the moose standing and starting to come after him. In the end he never did get the moose but like he said I will see the red in those eyes until the day I die. I guess he got to the moose and grabbed an antler just as a eye opened and it started to stand up. How stupid it that and they wonder why it is so important to make sure they are dead.

This looks like the 60s or 70s.

I don't know what the general consensus is, but that isn't normal Moose behavior. We had an aggressive Moose near our farm a few years ago. It was going after a couple of horses. The owner of the horses shot the moose. They sent the head away and it came back positive for brain worms. A parasite that deer carry but moose have little immunity.
Also, I would have shot a lot sooner than the guy in the video!
