my growing czech family

the 3 czech FSN-01 cousins on the right are the newest arrivals, they join the two CZ858 on the left.

the only difference i see between the FSN-01 (top right) and the FSN-01W(mid right) is the gas blocks (not including the furniture), FSN-01 has the stainless steel gas block. its pretty obvious the "K" (bottom right) has a shorter barrel and a unique front sight. love that krink, its now my favorite VZ, :D

the new arrivals was very easy to strip completely, i had no problem removing the fixed stock bolt. i inspected every parts as i cleaned, i noticed that the patches had some red , it seems the finishing is rubbing off .

when i reassembled, the lower HG was a bit loose (moving front and back) so put a piece of plastic in the front and that tightened it right up, bores looks good and so is the muzzles.

a couple of the mags had difficulty fitting into the mag well , i removed some of the paint with a file and that solved the problem.

i dont know when i will get a chance to shoot the new arrivals , hopefully soon.

Very nice. Is the wood-clad folder finished or still a work in progress?

+1

I would like to know. I wish I had the patience and ability to do that. I think it is a perfect answer for compactness and function.

p.s. I think the gas block is nickel. I remember John saying something about it in his forum.

here is the quote from the thread

Thanks, knew there was an obvious term that was escaping me. Called in an order this morning, apparently it's nickel plated and the same on both models so the FSN-01F picture remains a mystery! I actually prefer the blued look but I'm sure I'll manage.

thanks fellas.

stevo, yes, its finished , i like the lighter wood but bare in mind i can change it anytime.

survival, for sure but gotta make room for them first, thats one big family moving in . :D

thank goodness they are small, im gonna divide my gun carbinet in half.

ridgearms, yes, you are right , its nickle, i dont know why i said chrome. doh!!!

Curtton, explain the K underfolder, where do you get the mounting bracket/plate? HOT!!

i love my underfold, more comfy then the VZ side folder and it looks much better, however it sits a bit high so i will be using my eotech on it.

it was made by dlask several years ago, they nolonger make them.

i'll post some pics , see if you can have someone make it for you .

Nice collection Curtton!! I showed my wife your photos, and now she doesn't think I'm as crazy with only 10 rifles! ;) BTW, I think a Scorp would nicely compliment your Czech collection! :)

Is it possible to fire the CZ with the Ace folding stock in the folded position? I am considering a similar setup on the "K" model.. whenever it becomes available again!

Regards,

curtton, is that just a standard AK underfolder with a custom bracket? like the bulgarian underfolders that SKSMAN sells? seems like a simple piece of c-channel or square tube, somethin a guy could whip up in the garage. Can it be opened and closed with a 30 rder in the rifle? anyways, nice fam! and you dont even need government cheques to feed them all!

supernova, probably but i cant say for sure cos i didnt make it.
the 30 rd mag has to be removed before folding and unfolding, thats why i made 20 rds mags .

venom, looks like the underfold are stealing the limelight so heres somemore , folded and unfolded.

i fired 100 rounds thru the FSN-01K today and it shot like a charm, no FTF. the only thing that caught me by suprise was the sound , boomf boomf and it was loud, i can even see the blast shooting up in a "V" shape.

the range wasnt busy but a couple of people came over , first guy wanted to take pics of the krinkov with his camera (he has a 16" VZ) and later another wanted to hold it.

nice little rifle.

Hey i was wondering where you sourced the black plastic AK (or bakelite can't tell) pistol grip, also is it hard to fit it too the vz?
