Importing an LRB receiver.

I was at the range yeterday and saw a Poly Tec with all the heal markings ground off and new laser markings on the side of the reciever . It did not look good at all ! Allmost looked like it was done with a grinder ,And sold for full price to boot.

All polyteck's and norc's are made that way (except for the very early blank or heel stamped ones)... only the US manufacturered m14's, m1a's, LRB's etc have the heel stamp.

As discussed I e-mailed FNsports to know the situation on Springfield armory M1A imports (same marking).
Double interesting for me: LRB import + SAI warranty service.

I just e-mailed Prophet River asking that they investigate on LRB import with their FFL exporter.

If there's export restrictions on M14, we might be fine with a M25, barrel marked .308 and no flash-hider. That would be a good compromise! :D

Still no news of FNsports.

very cool.
and if you guys decide to go ahead with an import, let me know. I might just take an m25 receiver after all.
of course that will mean selling off one of my prize all g.i. builds to pay for it LOL. got some parts coming in that would be perfectly suited for a fresh LRB receiver (thx mark ;) )
phil, yer stock is going out in a little over a week ;) an LRB receiver would go nice with her hehehehe

Hey doc, if I can get one, I intend to send it your way for you to build be something special! Here's hoping this all works out.

I have had the pleasure of building up 3 LRB receivers so far..... none for myself yet. Looking forward to having that pleasure again ;)
I'm thinkin usgi bolt, McGowen 18.5" barrel, 7.62 firearms gas cylinder, some smith ent and sadlak goodies, a wolfe spring or two...... hmmmmmm I never get enough of these damn rifles :D
at least my wife puts up with my insatiable habits

I am thinking about an all USGI rifle, just a really, really, nice all original M-14. What can I say, I am super old fashioned!

any word on this?
I think i'd gladly trade a complete, all H&R g.i. parts kit for an LRB M25 receiver :D
and no don't anyone p.m. me, the parts aren't for sale hehehe

"...If there's export restrictions on M14..." No 'If' about it.
"...all original M-14..." Evil, 'once an MG, always an MG', 12(2)/12(3) prohibited, thing. Make you go blind. There were real, semi'd, M14's available, long ago, but not now.

the standard LRB receiver is marked M14SA so there is no worries about it being an m14 parts thing......
they have been cleared for export in the past, the same as one exports/imports a firearm from the U.S.
the question now is with recent restrictions on items even marked with the military chambering designation ie: .556 , 7.62 ect ect..... we may not be able to get any LRB receivers out of the U.S. simply because of the 7.62 marked on the heel. I very highly doubt LRB would retool to specially label the small number of receivers they will sell to canadian end users.

back to my original point of how can a receiver be chambered in anything? This proves beyond all doubt that the people in the state department are ####tards. Banning the export of adjustable stocks wtf is that about? Civil servants and politicians are the natural enemy of sense and reason.

but in the end..... we have canadian politicians to blame for not signing a little paper that would have given us exemption from all this crap .... or most of it...... in the first place. The U.S. offered us the exemption..... but some f**ktard in ottowa at the time decided it wasn't in our best interests.... cuz afterall ... we're gun owners and can't be trusted.

Do not EVER, I mean NEVER, expect a bureaucrat to exercise common sense and discretion in making a decision. It is CYA and protect your turf above all. When in doubt make a regulation;one size fits all of course. "No" is always the easy and best answer.

I had a policy in one of the organizations that I ran, while serving penance in Ottawa, that we were there to serve the interests of people in the field, and that my staff would always endevour to say "yes" to requests from the field. When a "no" answer was planned, I was to be briefed beforehand to give my concurrence.

I recall one case where the planned answer was "no". When briefed on the issue I thought that it was a reasonable request, and said that I proposed to give a "yes" unless there was some compelling reason to the contrary. When I asked why we shouldn't say "yes", the reason given was that article "x" of chapter "y" in publication "z" prohibited this. In reply I reminded the good folk that, seeing how we were the author of that particular policy and that particular publication, we probably had the discretion to make exceptions to it. "Quel surprise", as the frenchmen say.

I dunno' purple. The Gub'ment has invented a new element that could greatly advance M14 design...You need to get with the program :bangHead:

Research has led to the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium (Gv), has one neutron, 25assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every action with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second to take from four days to four years to complete. Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2-6 years; it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes. This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass. When catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates even less energy than Governmentium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons :HR:

Well I want one, maybe we could get a "Canadian Edition" group buy going, if they won't do the 7.62mm, perhaps we can get a minimum order of .308's made up?

fun idea but unfortunatly we would be waitng probably at least a year and a half just for LRB to catch up thier current demand.
