Anyone know where to find metric FAL magazines??

You should have looked over a year ago, if you found some they would be cheap.
Now that the RFB is here, guess what....it's $50+ a mag now. Go Figure.

Wolverine was supposed to have them in. Refinished mags for $55
 
go buy yourself a copy of shotgun news there are places in the states selling them for as low as 12.00 each brand new in packing grease get ahold of bufflo gun centre let them know where to purchase them and get them to rivit them they will export them for you iam going this route but going down and doing the rivet job myself to save money iam sure if there value is under a hundred bucks just get them shipped in quantities of hundred dollar value better than 55 each
 
They seem to be hit or miss for the RFB. Some are too wide at the spine. My RFB won't feed pinned mags, I went and riveted a fork of all things to the floor plate up the middle of the mag to stop the follower at 5 rounds and not interfere with the spring. It feeds fine by hand, but the real test will be when I hit the range.

The mags I have that seat easily are around .984 thick give or take a few thou. The ones that don't seat too well are around 1.000" you can remedy this with a hammer or a file.
 
2 of the three mags I have do not fit - like Throttle_Monkey says they are thicker at the spin by about 15 thou. I'll see if Lanz or Vault will exchange them (easiest route), otherwise, it's a machine vice and a little squishy squishy....
 
i have canadian/indian fn mag bodies and parts. 55 dollars you say? what about pinned 30 rounders to 5? what would they be worth? not for sale but i never thought they would be worth that much.
 
Well I was bored and my wife was out for a run, so I decided to "convince" my mags to fit the RFB. I clasped them between the palms, interlocked the finger and gave them a dose of Mr. Hand Vice... Fortunately the grip muscles I developed during pre-high school years are still alive and kicking, and I was able to knock 10 thou into the sheet metal...

I've also sent out a bunch of emails to see if the 10 round mags (pinned to 5 of course) are gettable... if so, I think the size of them would be perfect....

no worries there iam not gonna lose my fredom to eneter the states over a few mags you just need to find a store that will export them too you buffalo guncentre will export a rifle or handgun if its allowed in canada so mags arent a big deal and i beleive even if the mags cost 20 each after they rivet them for you you could get 5 at a time with out export papers
 
I have a good friend who has a dual Canada/UK citizenship and has offered to bring 40 of the 20 rounders over on his next trip. The tricky part will be having them pinned over there. I'm still looking into the legalities so if anyone wants to chime in, I'm all ears..

This is obvious but make sure your friend know the difference between Metric and Inch L1A1 mags which are more common in the UK...

Also, DSA Arms has brand new (not surplus) 5 and 10 round FAL mags in the US for $25 if anyone is looking AND they ship to Canada...
