As a split from the Sponsorship thread....
It does pose an interesting question.

Mind you since the IPSC President does not even want to get involved in fighing antigun politics.....I would imagine that this would be deemed off side as well.

I made this a multi answer poll.......as it is really two polls in one.

Just a thought - in a dictatorship, who is going to be allowed to have access to firearms? Would these be shooters you would want to associate with?

I know your motives are pure, but I think we are better served building the sport without regard for the local politics.

I think every organization should have strong leadership. Sometimes we call our leaders 'dictators' but they are just strongly minded and passioned.
Dictatorship starts when same person is in place for long and members can not remove him/her from the post. Decision making is based not on rules but rather on personal experience of person in power.
We believe democracy is something where everyone has a voice and is protected under constitution, in some places democracy is a tool of majority in power who disregard opposition or doesn't give her a voice.

I think IPSC should belong in free countries not in 'gulag' oligarchic states.

I can't vote in this pole,...because I believe that the circumstances will be different for countries. When the Liberals were the head party of Canada,...one could say this country was anti-gun. At one time,...only LE were permitted to shoot in PPC matches. That has changed over the years. IPSC is not a political organization, and we have other groups like the NRA, NFA, CSSA,.etc that are better suited for that task. We as individuals can choose who to support...( ie: support CSSA,..support your PC party..etc)

Does IPSC in CHina allow civilians to participate in IPSC? So many variables to contend with.....

Leave politics out of it and don't punish individuals who wish to compete for the rotten government (is there any other kind?) they live under.

In those areas I consider to be dictatorships................do the "good people" even get a chance to shoot? Or is it left only to the elite "party members"

You're starting to sound like a Liberal John...

I don't like your politics/beliefs...therefore you must be banned

Please point out where I said anything of the sort?

Standing up against Dictatorships is the exact opposite of a Liberal agenda.......

I would say nice try.............but it really is a rather pathetic attempt.. (even for you:rolleyes:)

Well let's start with the title of your poll

Anyway...since you're not a hypocrite...and you clearly insulted me (a violation of board rules)...please let me know once you given yourself an infraction.

In response to your upcoming retort that I insulted you by stating that you're starting to sound like a Liberal (it obviously wasn't a compliment) ...I look forward to my infraction as well...

I'll leave you to solve the worlds problems...maybe with another poll...

The title of my post is a simple question?

there is no bias in it what so ever.

As insulting you......................calling me a liberal is insulting but the smiley and the fact that I know you makes it ok. I would think that the reverse is also true.

John, not sure if you know, but in countries like Russia, civilians are not allowed to own the handguns. Yet Russia was the most developed IPSC region last years and there is many great handgun shooters from there. Some of them are from various LE organizations, but there is also number of civilians. The way it works there, is that guns are owned by a sport club and club members are using club equipment for practice and competition. This is obviously a hassle, and those who don't like or can't afford it are more active in Shotgun and Rifle IPSC.

What excuse are you going to use to wriggle out of why you don't run for election as IPSC President? Isn't there an election THIS YEAR?

You have answers to all the questions, and you're always right, so why not go for it? A real leader leads by example not by always complaining in a bulletin board how others do things wrong. Or should we change your ID to "LightShowerBringer"??

:)
