What are some of the semi auto pistols that often get overlooked, but really are a great purchase for the casual pistol shooter?

Stuff beyond the regular 1911's, Sigs and Glocks.

Which in your collection do you consider the most non-typical semi auto that works great?

Curious to see what everyone has.

I think the Jericho 941, aka Baby Desert Eagle, is one gun that is often overlooked but an awesome buy. An all metal 9mm fir under $700 is an excellent starting point for for the casual shooter.

I still have my RugerP345. Very accurate and fun pistol for a great price.

It was 2004 Guns and Ammo gun of the year. Great .45. I believe they are around $600 brand new.

FN FiveSeven

Walther P99. You'll be hard pressed to find a pistol that is more comfortable. Mine's been very reliable. I bought it used a few years ago and I've put over 5000 rds done the pipe. Not a single part of the gun has failed or needed replacement yet.

STI GP6-C

* Great to shoot out of the box. Excellent stock trigger both DA and SA.
* adjustable sights
* Fiber optic front sight
* Full ambi controls.

For the money, this is one of the best deals out there given that it can go from the box to competition without any work (other than adjusting the sights) or modification.

Steyr GB, unique operating system and extremely reliable. S&W 3913, an overlooked but great carry gun. HKP7M8, accurate, small, reliable, expensive to make (that's why they don't make them anymore) and kicks like a mule in the web of your hand, a "professional choice in carry". And, the best handgun, in my opinion, the P35, aka Browning High Power, old Joe's own favorite creation. These are some of my favorite things..

Don't hear much about the hi-point pistols. I have comming and know a guy in the US who bought one new. Ones bought new in the US come with a lifetime warranty to the original owner. USA made obviously.
