Reloading 6.5 by 55 Swedish

Hi everyone,
just recently got rifle with above mentioned round.
Can someone help me with recipes on reloading, bullet will be 139 Gr. Lapua Scenar since I first intend to do paper shooting.
I found some on Google but I am sure here are few people who know exactly the best match.

Hi. You have to work up the load for your rifle. No two rifles will shoot the same load the same way. Even 2 consecutively serial numbered rifles.
There's lots of 6.5 x 55 Mauser(not SKAN) data on Hodgdon's site. Use the 140 grain data. One grain won't matter.
There's Scenar data on Lapua's site, but only for Vihtavuori powders. Data is given in metric and grains. Be careful if you use Vihtavuori powders and Lapua's data.
 
What rifle? The older Masuers and Krags are not as strong as newer actions. I load well over book max with a modern rifle and get no pressure signs at all, but wouldn't recommend the same in an old rifle.

With that said, the preferred powders for 140gr bullets are RL-22 and the 4831's. I have been happy with RL-22 so far in mine. Also, search this forum for "6.5x55", you will find lots of info and threads.

And yes as you mentioned I always starting with low loads and than gradually increasing IF needed.

I have a Winchester Model 70 Featherweight in 6.5x55. My most accurate load is 44 grs of H380 with a 140 gr Nosler ballistic tip or Partition.
 
Another vote for H4831 with Re22 a close second. I've loaded 129gr and 140gr bullets. In my M96 the 129s shot better, but not by much. I had a light load of H4831 under 129gr Hornady bullets that consistantly shot under and inch.
 
If you can get your hands on some, Norma MRP will shine in that 6.5x55 Swede. Max loads will be around 47.0 grains, but I would start at 45....safe in any Swede I have ever tried it in, and that is a few!! Eagleye.
 
Varget and 140 matchkings always produce my best groups, although I have yet to find an inaccurate load. With any powder I've tried. Thats the beauty of the Swede. I have had great sucess with IMR 4831 and RL22 also.

I have on my hands H1000, RL 25 and Vit. N 560.
Anyone tried loads with above mentioned?
I can find loads on Hogdon and Lapua websites, but wanted to hear from someone who tried them.
I know that my .338 Lapua Magnum in AI LOVES N 560, second RL25 and last H1000.

Anyone knows the total length of 6.5x55. I checked the package insert in the Die, it is 80mm.

However, as I made it to 80mm, I found too much bullet exposed outside, only a very small part has been inserted into the brass.

Is it correct?
 
No matter how I have tried, I can't get any powder to be more accurate in the 6.5X55 with 140gr bullets than H4350. Others have a higher MV (such as RL-25) and a slightly compressed load of H1000 comes close accuracy-wise, but for me, it's H4350.
 
On a slightly different note, i was testing some new 6.5x55 reloads saturday and learned the strangest thing.
My Norma brass has a head diameter of .477 to .478, but the winchester brass i was using as a head diameter of .470 to .472.
The extractor on my husky 1640 couldn't even grab the winchester brass. (the norma brass, by comparison, functioned flawlessly with the extractor.)
Has anyone else ever noticed this? What about other brass types and head diameters? Lapua?
Also, my norma loads with 120 gr. Nosler ballistic tip were under .7 (my best was .371).
Winchester brass loads, by comparison, were average 1.3"
Is winchester brass really this bad? I've measured the heads of the entire winchester brass, and they are all the same and brutally narrow.
Thoughts?
