I got these both as sporters and brought them back. These are my babies:D The top one is a LE No4Mk1* Savage with matching bolt, barrel, receiver and mag. Also has a No4Mk1 bayonet and scabbard.

The bottom one is a No4Mk1 with matching Bolt, barrel and receiver. With a No4Mk1 Bayonet

Both have period LE slings but I only have one LE carrying bag:(

I dont see me parting with these, they will probably be passed down.

I know I need to head to the range. When I do, Milsurp will be the first to know. The walnut one is Brand new unissued forstock and butt. The butt is C broad Arrow. It had no protection on the wood so I just gave the whole set a coat of linseed oil. Both of them are 1943.

they look fantastic, great job.

now all you need is another #4 from the Longbranch factory and you are all set :D

Thanks for all the comments. I really enjoy restoring these rifles, that have so much history, back close to original as I can. My 17 year old son and I restored both these rifles together. I am sure he will give them a good home when I leave this world. I have been hoarding all the Enfield goodies I can get my hands on.
Polaris, I agree with you... I have enough parts to restore 3 more and hope one is a Longbranch.

Thanks.

Oh nice work, and great way of spending time with your son. I am sure they will shoot as good as they look.

Always great to see a Lee Enfield restored to what it was meant to be. Good job and please continue to "save" more.

Eeee! Them are beauties! You have done a great job of restoring those old rifles to their proper state, plus had the pleasure of sharing the duty with your son. You are a good man!:)
