My latest acquisition - all matching Model 1944 Carbine made in Poland in 1953 (aka Polish Mosin M44).
Although I did not expect it to be in unfired condition, it can be arguably classified as such - I spent better part of the evening cleaning cosmoline from its innards but no powder residue or signs of ammo being used (corrosive or otherwise). The bore has a mirror shine and the bolt is silky-smooth.

All it needed on the outside was a fresh coat of tung oil on the stock. Now it is better than new. And quite pretty, for a military rifle made almost 60 years ago...
Enjoy!

I also have a minty 1955 m44 Polish MN. I've fired it a few times and love the way it shoots and handles.
You gotta get it out to the range to really appreciate it!

Nice example there. I just got back from the range one hour ago shooting one of my Polish M44's. Lovely rifle yours is.

Sweeeeet !!! great looking and great shooters. I have two M44's in almost the same condition.
One blonde stock like yours, and one darker red colour. The blonde is my moose gun.

Great camera work! nice rifle too!!

these rifles are the best deals on the market.

~ 250- 300 for a high quality, brandnew milsurp, produced 60 years ago.

These prices will not last forever and might increase significantly in the near future..

Wow, where did you find one like that ? me wants :)

Yep as to the price increase. The first Polish M44's I saw were brought in about 25 years ago. Going price for one, brand new, unfired, was about $50. I've owned several, but stupid me, got rid of them when I moved to the big city.

I bought mine for $114 13 or 14 years ago, cant still decide me to clean the cosmo and shoot it. I will consider buying a used one i think.:)

It's a great rifle.
Where would you find one at that price?

That is a beatiful rifle. Do you plan on shooting it, or is it a collector piece. I'd be tempted to put that one under glass. The blueing is what does it for me.
