What animal skull is this?

I found this skull last summer...I cleaned it up, glued the teeth in and clear coated it. I am not 100% sure what animal it is tho...anyone know?

I think you've found the answer.

Definitely a carnivore.

Muzzle much too long for a cat or a skunk.

Not a badger as the outer incisors are wrong.

Not a coyote as their upper incisors are curved.

ya it definatly looks like a bear skull but it is way to small

My first thought was bear, as it is almost exactly like a couple I have in my basement.

BUT...the snout is too short and it is too small. I thought immature bear, to accomodate for the size, but it still does not quite explain the short snout.

The raccoon guys may be right, but it seems pretty large for a raccoon to me. I've seen bear skulls from 200 lb bears that are not even twice that size...unless raccons get to be 100 lbs in your part of the country...

Maybe post something next to the skull for a size comparison for a more accurate answer. Although I'm going to side on the raccoon as I have a skull much, if not exactly like that.
