Took the nork out to play on Saturday and it looks like I found my load:eek: I had no idea This rifle could be so accurate, I'm extremely impressed. This group was shot at the 75yrd target because of the thick mud at the red deer fish&game range and I didn't want to destroy my shoes (its deep at the 100!). I don't see it opening up much at the 100yrd and people around me seemed very impressed.

Were you planning to publish your load? ;)

I thought no one would ask:D its 26.1gr of Varget in a .223 win cases topped with Sierra 55gr FMJ Boat tails pushed together in a small base die set. I'm not sure of the OAL I just adjusted the die until the round just fit in the magazine, Ill take a measurement during the first period. I think Ive found a shooter while looking for a plinker:cheers:

I'm with ya on that!

@ 100 yards, with the planets perfectly aligned:

I shoot better with my Norc than my Savage .308

Edit: 55grn bulk Remington FMJ over 25 grns of Win 748

Hmmm, I might have to try a different powder. I am using H335 with the same junk bullet and getting about 3 MOA last time I checked. I figured it was the cheap projectiles. Seems like they might have some potential.

Off to the bench then.

looks good man. pardon my ignorance but why the dual optics? and also is that thing considered restricted or non? cause id like something of that nature in the near future but dont wanna get into dealing with res rifles :)

Magnifier (?3X) + red dot = Dual optic
Any, and all, AR 'variants' are restricted....

The only this that looks odd about your rifle is that flat tip screw that holds the left side of the ambi safety on. If you replace it with a 6 32 button head cap screw it will look way better, other than that, the rifle looks very cool and, by your group, does as well as it looks!!!

That screw look's to be countersunk.
I've never seen a countersunk button head socket cap screw.

Nork accuracy

I bought my nork Ar knock off second hand, paid $500 for the God-honest F-ugliest plinker - and it turned out to be a shooter. I put 10 rounds in 2.5 MOA at 125 yards with Winny white box! Such that a buddy with a RRA lower and heavy barrel build couldnt match it with the same ammo on the same day! I shot his and he shot mine - and he got better groups with my Nork as well. definitely the rifle! The kid at the machine shop that day must have been an over-achiever!

Did you replace/tune the trigger at all?
I shot a friends nork the other day and was not impressed with it, this one was gritty, quite stiff and didn't break all that well.

Magpul MBUS Front Sight

Hi,

I have to ask this question, as I saw a similar thing in another thread yesterday.

Why are people mounting their front back up sights on backwards?

Am I missing something here?

Regards.

Mark

Might have to invest in the ol Norcy M4, I had the NP-58 sig knock off, that performed just as well as my P226...........hmmmmmmmm might just wait till Tuesday though :D

I can't speak on the OP's behalf but on mine, all I did was run some 1000 grit over the sear just to polish it up a bit and I put in a lightened hammer spring. Wound up going back to the regular spring though for reliability's sake. Trigger was pretty good with the lightened spring but nowhere near what a proper drop in kit would give you.

How many rounds through your friend's Nork? It'll smoothen out after 1000 rounds or so :)
