Which SKS stock to buy?

I am trying to decide between the Tapco Fusion w/bottom rail and the ATI ultimate professional stock w/aluminum package from Fabsports for my SKS. I want to use it for a hunting rifle and plan to put on a side rail scope. Which one?
 
The ATI stock is junk I got the Tapco and its really strong and durable the ATI is not its a waste of money read the reviews online about the two I got mine from Hical.ca I think I will get the OD stock on the next SKS I buy and it wont be A Chinese one Russian's only.
 
X 2 on the simonovs, and yea get the tapco. Although if it's for hunting check out one of these wood stocks that are becoming more availible
 
I have a Choate Dragunov style and it has a very nice fit and shoulders very comfortably. I've tried the others you've mentioned but like the Choate's ergonomics more (for me anyways). Might be something else to consider to make your choice harder.:rolleyes:
 
Tapco is the way to go.

I have heard stories about the ATI side folding stock becoming loose and wobley.

I know you want the "tacticool" look, but those new Timbersmith stocks look SO nice!!
 
Tapco's are nice, need some bedding work under the receiver and the front ferrule though. There was a thread on this topic here somewhere.

I used a Choate Sporter for my latest build. Lighter than any of the current offerings of aftermarket stocks. Got it from SKS man and I am very impressed with it. I did have to bed it in front where the barrel meets the receiver, too much flex. But it is now very solid and shoots great.
 
I have ATI + aluminum package and it works really nice for me, really stable, no wobbling. Maybe aluminum parts are better fitted or something. Side folding is very nice for transportation. No bedding was necessary - fit was good as is.

The only thing I've changed/fixed - the pistol grip is attached by a self-threading screw, into plastic stock, which seems weak - I've replaced this with a brass threaded insert into the plastic of the stock and 8-32 bolt. (But, from what I saw - the same screw/plastic is used on Tapco stocks)

It right at the bottom of the page on the SKS stocks list, right after the Butler Creek version ... labeled ... SkS Synthetic Stock. It cost me me $80.00 total after shipping.

And yes, it is the same stock as the one marked "conventional" on Choate site.

I bought a Tapco and sent it back. Overall quality was not what I was looking for and there was a crack developing around the hole at the bottom of the handgrip.

I followed that thread, praying he would announce that he had plans to produce those stocks. :(
 
I had an ATI sidefolder initially but traded up to a Tapco, it's more comfortable and by far more versatile if you are going for the 'tacticooled' look.
