Are you saying you are willing to offer courses out West? I am a noob when it come to tacticool rifles but I'd love to learn to run one from a pro. I have heard pretty negative things about what is currently available out here, then again I don't know s**t first hand...

I'd be in. I sold my -58 but still have 20 mags and several crates of ammo begging to see some worthwhile use. I bet one of those Carbines would be pretty nifty...

That's too bad. I hear Earl puts on a great class.
It boggles my mind that there aren't enough shooters who'll put their money where their mouth is, in a location with literally millions of people within a few hours drive. Especially since we host classes in butt-hole Northern AB and fill them, year after year. But two hours west in FSJ they can't get enough students for classes, either. I don't get it.
We should look at bringing him up next year. I can pretty much guarantee we'll fill any classes offered. We have an excellent facility for any type of class.

You're really in the minority. Once you start using your stuff you'll realize equipment is a much smaller part of the equation to becoming a good shooter. Guys who know how to shoot aren't anything special, all they've done is put in time and money training and practicing, it's a learned skill not a talent. You can put any gun in their hands and they'll make it work and outshoot any posuer with the latest and greatest stuff. You can tell the real shooters at the range, their guns are beat up and their gear used, BUT they know how to shoot. Afterall what's the point in having $1000's in guns if you can't put the bullet where it needs to go?

I do have gun and I will travel! If you guys out west are interested and can get a group that guarnatee they will attend, I will gladly come out and run a bunch of courses.
I think Gunslinger and Hawkmoon can verify that I can run well thought out and educational courses on any platform that you choose (except F-class/long range rifles - I've always sucked at doping wind! LOL).
I really enjoy seeing shooters' skills improve over the course of the day and I love it when you see the light come on for them and they realize that they have improved!
I can guarantee that you will learn something at any of our courses. I can also guanratee that you will have fun. I can even guarantee that your skills will improve.
And I guarantee that I look damn hot in multicam!

You don't need training when deploying from the couch in your moms basement during a commercial break in a band of brothers marathon. Its more important to know how to get the chocolate stains out of a xxl magpul t shirt then it is to do a smooth mag change while on the run. It takes a lot of practice to swipe the tide stain remover stick just right across a stubborn stain.
And before anyone says anything, i would be at the class but i will be attending a very small, closed to the public, intimate session with Marc Denny of the Dog Brothers (www.dogbrothers.com) where i expect to be badly bruised and abused.

Any chance you'd show up in the Lower Mainland ie Vancouver BC? Judging by all the CZ 858s I've seen around here, you would likely fill a class....At least I'd be there--multicam or no...

I have a couple of ladies I see for the same thing. Me and ol' Happy Ending Jack have been training with them for years.
I would without hesitation vouch for the courses Earl runs, money and time well spent!
What will become apparent quickly is how much you really do suck and how far you have to go to get good. If you like playing dress up don't bother making the effort as your gear will likely get dirty, that new camo job scratched, and the stockpile of ammo you've been saving for the apocalypse depleted some. But if you do you'll be left with some skills on how to properly use your stuff and likely change you focus from buying and collecting to using and shooting.

Part of the problem with attracting people to come out and partake in courses is the sense of being overwhelmed with some, and not wanting to run advanced drills with noobs with others.
We have a hard enough time attracting people to come out and attend Service Rifle and Carbine matches which are completely static, with very little fees.
Asking for guys to spend more money on a course than they would in a year or two's worth of ammo, plus burning up half a year's with of ammo in one weekend is a big ask.
