Wolf Calling?

I have called in a few with snowshoe hare in distress.I got 1 last winter at 22 yards with the fox pro using this call.They are very smart and you need to be watching everywhere
,they will sometimes just run right past you.Good luck and be ready to put in some time.

around here we just use an Elk call... 
You don't need any calls at all, as some said, just cup your hands and howl.
Wolves are very territorial, they don't tolerate the presence of other 'wolves' in their preceived hunting territory.
To be successful, locate fresh sign. It works better, the closer you are. If you can locate a pack, set up and call. Be patient, it's a bit like calling moose.

Rabbit squealers work fine.
I managed to call one right up to our remote cabin in winter. He/she came right up our skidoo track on the lake from about five miles away. We know because we backtracked him/her. He/she milled around on the trail for a couple of minutes during the night and then hit the bush.Big, big track.
As others have noted, I just cup my hands and howl long and loud.
I have had a lot of answers including some great group howls over the years but only the one actually ever came right in.
An interesting and entertaining sideline to my other wilderness pursuits!
I am quite sure that any and all of the previous suggestions will work including doe/faun bleats, rabbit squeals, elk calls etc.

dont use that call now unless you re deay for bear lol ....
calf elk call is supposed to work very well here too ...
i'd probably start off with wolf howls and if I got a response then just sit and wait and maybe howl again after 20 minutes or so. If no response start the rabbit distress or fawn distress. I'm sure if they can hear it they will come investigate. If multiple ones come, take the lead one hope its an alpha
coyoteking, I've inadvertently called in a few wolves over the last 4years when we are moose hunting. A lost calf call seems to do the trick. Of course I'm trying to call a calf in to shoot and end up with wolves sneaking in around my tree stand. They see the orange vest and they're gone pretty quick tho. I learned to call moose from Owen Scott's recordings and they sure do work. Makes sense to me that the wolves are attrcted to a lone calf since thats pretty much all they eat....
Thanks to everyone for the calling advice! I really look forward to trying out some different methods for wolves than what I am used to using on the local coyotes. I probably will only have 3 or 4 days to hunt them this fall as it is hard to get away from my work commitments. If I have any luck and manage to take one I will post the trophy shots here for sure.
I'm a whitetail freak first and foremost, but due to the nasty winter we just had in southwest Sask., and with all the deer carcases I have been finding out in the fields, I think this might be a good year to try something new. If anyone here has any advice on where I might have the best chance on calling wolves in Saskatchewan, or if you know some landowners that would allow me to access their property to try it, let me know.

Is that not half the fun of calling??Not knowing if anything is coming in and what it might be.We have used this same call in the spring and had only limited interest with grizz and blacks.Did have 1 small grizz at 30 yards bluff charging but it was not big enough even for the bow.It was very interesting and not for the faint at heart.I would say to use extreme caution and only use in the right setups.Calling wolves is a very interesting game and is very rewarding if you outsmart one.
The only guy I know who successfully calls wolves up here, call them by howling. He really knows how to bring them in, sometimes calling them all the way around, or occasionally across, a lake.
