Unissued Russian SKS?

I'm guessing you mean non refurbed? Because they were all fired at the arsenal before approval, and almost all were issued somewhere at some point.

Yes sorry, a non-refurb i want to get as new as possible...i bought a Russian last year a 1950 Tula Non chrome lined barrel(refurb black bolt) and the barrel was completely worn out looked like a SKS shotgun no rifling at all left. The only good thing with that Rifle was it had the Spring firing pin instead of the free floating one but i should have inspected it better before purchasing. I sold it to a friend of mine who was going to just use it as a plinker, but i want a Russian in excellent shape.

I hear that there is no such thing as a non-referb.... That all SKS's that come from Russia is referb. Only ones that come from China is like new condition...

Ya if you want a "brand new/unfired sks" your best bet is a Chicom sks, they are everywhere right now including the ee.I bought 2 this year for between $165-$185 and I am very impressed! People harp on them as " not as high quality" as the Ruskies but they are in new condition and all matching.whatever you decide good luck and good shooting!

I have a 1954 Tula for sale in amazing condition. Doesn't look issued or fired. All matching, all perfect. Pm me if your interested.

Yeah i bought one of Chinese type from Marstar, beautiful gun not a scratch on it....if i can find a Russian close to that condition i will be a happy camper then next year maybe a Yugo.

I got a true non-refurbished and unfired SKS from Weimajack. Whether or not it was unissued I will never know... but it is clearly unfired and non-refurbished, and I suspect unissued. It sits in the corner of my gun locker, looking pretty, and will never be fired. So they do exist, but aren't easy to find.

I have two of them, non-refurb, non-frankenpinned(pinned to the follower), all 100% original. These came with the first wave of the most recent Rusisan SKS imports...They do exist and there are quiet few of them around.

Only non-refurbs I've seen the last year or so have been at Westrifle. For some reason the recent shipments have been lacking them, unlike the earlier ones were. Westrifle handpicks all their SKSs.

Don't freak out about slamfire free floating pin...non issue if you clean and oil your guns. If you treat/mistreat your firearms like the adopted red haired kid, you maybe in for some trouble. My .02

The very first thing i did when i got my first Chinese was to pop out the retaining pin that holds in the firing pin and clean that channel out with a Q-Tip...the pin rattles around in there great now, I do plan however to order the Spring firing pins from a company in Texas.
