Using 1979 Surplus, mine does this...
6 inches right at 100, right on at 200, 300, 12 inches left at 385, 18-20 inches left at 500. Elevations are fine, it's like throughing a curve ball?
Weird.

Ive owned 5 different kinds of sks rifles and never encoutered that. You do get "flyers" with surplus ammo. If you fire 5 shots at 100 yards, are they ALL going to the RIGHT ?
Bent barrel wouldn't do it, bent back sight or scope could. Or wind. What size are your 500m groups?
Going to the 100m Range at Chester Grant Friday with my Chinese SKS for the first time, i will give a Range report when i get back.
Let me guess... You were so disapointed at the rifles inaccuracy, you thought the range report would be a waste of time and just too depressing, as I found out.![]()
I have a late production(1955/56) Tula in like new condition. It shoots consistent 3 inch groups at 100 yards with Yugo surplus ammo with iron sights. It was on left and right but was shooting a touch high and I had to raise the front sight to lower the point of impact. I never tried any good grade commercial stuff through it yet. This SKS shoots almost as good as my new 858. A friend of mine has a chinese SKS he bought in the 1980's that he made his own receiver( screwed on) scope mount and it shoots 1.5 inch groups at 100 with commercial hunting ammo.
