Shorten PAL Approval Times

I would just keep calling them once a week to make sure they are moving your application. I called the CFO in Ontario after I was told that the rcmp sent it back to them for last approval. When I inquired about my license the lady said it just requires one last approval, she took a look at it and decided she could stamp it for "last approval". And sent it the following day... So if I didn't call them, it would probably sit there for another month or so
total time for me to get my PAL? 4 months. this is total time, from when i first went to do my firearms safety course and all. I sent everything ASAP right when i got them though. So for those who want your PAL, do it asap. and call them often to get your application rolling through the process

Finally! Both sets of test results arrived in the mail today and I just faxed them to the RCMP. I will call them tomorrow to make sure that they received them, and that they are legible. I will also check to see if I can be transferred for my interview.

I received my set of tests results today as well. I took my test May 6th, the test was stamped on June 7th. Looks like the backlog is getting cleared up. I took the non-restricted safety course.

I called the RCMP to check to make sure that they received my fax yesterday. Once it was confirmed that they received my fax they transferred for my interview. I then called my references and gave them the information for them to call in.

My timelines are as follows:

May 8: - Passed both courses
May 11: - Mail application to RCMP
May 16: - Application received
May 19: - Called RCMP to confirm application receipt
June 2: - Posted on RCMP web site and my VISA was charged $80.00
June 13: - Received a letter from RCMP requesting my stamped test results
June 22: - Called Ontario CFO for test results status - stuck in mail due to CP strike
July 4: - Received test results in mail and faxed them to RCMP
July 5: - Called RCMP and was transferred for my interview - called references and asked them to call in for their interviews

Interestingly the RCMP do not want to interview my spouse.

just did my interview. i called in instead of waiting. having both my references calling in today. they received it june 23rd so just have to wait the 28 days and i should have my card. already bought a safe just waiting for my card to stock it up haha.

Pretty much the standard stuff they asked on the form.

why do you want your rpal ?
a lot of questions about if you have criminal record or peace bond etc... against you.
if you are depressed and if you thought about suicide

pretty basic stuff. lasted maybe 2 min.
