Case lube substitute needed

I can't seem to find my Lee case lubricant, and don't plan to make a 20 mile drive just to get some unless absolutely necessary. So are there any substitutes that that you have used with success or is a drive to the city my only option?

90W gear oil. Or summer blend chainsaw bar oil. If you are using the pad rolling method. A few drops goes a long way.
I don't know what to say if you are looking for a spray substitute.

Most of what you just listed are rather "thin" and will be easily displaced with pressure. The exception being Vasaline, provided it doesn't get too warm. They may work in a pinch but if your are doing a full resize, necking down etc of bottleneck cases they may not have enough cohesion which may result in damaged cases.
 
Like Ben said Lanolin very sparingly or 1 part lanolin to 10 parts 99% Rubbing Alcohol for a spray on method. (This is what Dillon Spray on case lube is).

I have also used STP oil treatment or transmission oil very sparingly.

Go to Walmart in the shoe department and get Kiwi Mink Oil boot treatment, a very nice wax. Put a bit on your fingers and transfer a little bit to the cases and a way you go. (I think it works better than the Imperial Die Wax, oh the blasphemy).

Used motor oil
 
For a 'home brew': a 50/50 mix of castor oil and anhydrous lanolin (both can be found at any well stocked pharmacy). For a store bought product: Ballistol.
 
lanolin dissolved in rubbing alcohol. get the lanolin at your local drug store pharmacy. if you cant find it ask at the counter for nipple cream which is lanolin.
about 1 part lanolin to 10 parts alcohol.
works really well.

.....Your going to be blasting off hot loads at 100 yards all day saturday and maybe get into the pump-action on Sunday.....;p lol

A old fellow at the range that loads for his .500 nitro express swears by Pam spray.Says it works like a charm and he never runs out because he can always swipe another can from his wife's pantry.
 
To make a Dillon spray substitute, my recipe is as follows:

Mix 100 ml of liquid lanolin from a health food store ($10) with 500 ml of 99% rubbing alcohol (Pharmacy), preferably after warming lanolin in warm water. Store in an air tight container. I transfer amounts needed to spray bottle, shaking bottle before using.
 
believe it or not, at one time , lee recommended CASTOR OIL - when full length resizing 38 super cases- it's absolutely terrible to work wit, and lord help you if you put your hands anywhere near your mouth after, terrible to clean off, but there you have it
