Made you guys a video. Hope you enjoy it.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Here is a picture of the 115gn Berger Hunting VLD's again only with 5 more rounds in it from the video.

Total of a 15rd group.

I have one question for you: why did you chose 6XC?
I'm looking for a magazine feeding 6mm cartridge that is better than 243Win.
I might get my rifle rebarrelled for 6XC if the rounds feed thru an Accuracy International 308 Win magazine.

Stays subsonic till 1500y is the main reason.

A proven long range winning round win next to nothing for recoil. It was an easy choice to go with the 6xc.

Just look at the photo. 13rounds under .5moa. Says enough right there

If you need a coal let me know.

I would love to see subsonic round from the barrel go 1500 yds...... :D

dont you mean it stays super sonic to 1500yds?

id like to see a bullet that takes 1500yds to transfer from supersonic to subsonic...

you must still be sleeping

Let me intro you to the 6xc.

Run a ballistic program or just google it.

It's not the only one that can make distance like that. .338lm ect can with more eas and heavy rounds.

If you can get the 115 going 3260 you will JUST be super sonic at 1500 yds.

At it's max pressure at 3122 fps (Using Quickload with standard settings) it would just be going subsonic around the 1450yd mark. This is dependant also on elevation, humidity, temps, pressure, etc.

Yards Veloc. Mach
1400 1140.8 1.022
1500 1063.2 0.952

My 6BR with the 105's at 2920 goes sub at close to 1300yds (How far is a mile? 1370?)

Ian will probably wish he had kept that now :)

You should come out to homestead in Sept and clean his heiny with it if he comes out...LOL

Oh...and BTW.....this is the internet, you are supposed to cover the flyer with the penny....Noob. LOL

Cover the flyer, point noted. lol

I really just said 1500 to sum it up. I can't believe he gave this up either. Such a tack driver. I had a 6xc fantasy for like 4 years now. And this one is Amasing! 7.5 twist n everything.

The accuracy of this rifle is not even fully tuned yet. The 100 pices of brass I fired all had the idea to fire form. Not the original fireforming like from a 22-250 case. Just to get all the head spaces more uniform. Hopifully the necks streched on a few as well.

Still super impressed with the tubb brass.

Wasn't poking at your 1500yd assessment, was more for Ultimate Monkey's response.

Looks like a nice spot for load development too, almost like being indoors if there is no head/tail wind.

hey nw, Ive heard of your shooting ability so I just didn't want ya thinking I actually thought it was 1500y as well.

During the summer ya its a great spot for load testing. but only at 100 due to vegetation. The winter, over 1k up that line & wind picks up. We usually shoot two other fields in the summer. one only goes 900y and the other, about 1.5k.

I would really like to come out one time when your all there doing some Fclass forsure. I just got one of thoes jobs..... what a pain eh. hopefully tho.

AKD, if Ian gives up rifles like that I wonder how good the ones are that he keeps.

Enjoy your shooting!

BTW, enjoyed your vid. Truck motors, Gatorade, guns and bacon. Something for practically everyone.

Pointing that bullet will give you a pretty good gain in BC. The 117 gr. Matrix VLD is also a good candidate for pointing (meplat is huge!). The new pointed DTACs track with a BC of 0.590 in my Crusader. At, 3100 fps, they stay super out to 1500 yard easily. Both of those bullets should do better than the DTAC when pointed.

39gn hodgin 4350, .015 jammed oal. Case oal 2.905, neck tension .002, head space is now uniform at .001 back. Cci br2 primers.

I'm glad you said that kombayotch. I was looking at the Whidden pullet pointing system. Is this the only bullet pointer out there?

I have shot 6BR with 105 VLD's to a mile on several occasions and it it still exceptionally accurate. All shots fell within a 24" saw blade. When the sun comes out, forget it... way too much mirage.

That is one fine piece of shooting!!!! And with a real number of rounds too. If you can do that with 15 rounds, you can win at F-Class. The only reasons I parted with the gun was the stock. It is too short for my arms, and the fact that all my guns have Jewell triggers. It is a damned good shooter.

Glad to see it being enjoyed!!
