Shorten PAL Approval Times

I read the above link but I am not sure want what's going on if anything but just delaying things. Who is doing the verifying/proofing? Is it the CFC or is it the CFO? What are they claiming to be doing during the new verifying/proofing stage? The is just BS.

If it's Ontario, the number a few posts up worked fine yesterday. They didn't pick up the first few times, but I'd imagine they were just doing something else...

Try them again in a bit...

I asked her about the 3 weeks thing. And she said there is no such thing only the 28 days waiting period. Unless it's the CFC doing it without the CFO knowing.

She took the time to answer all of my questions since i am new to this sport.

Hey just wanted to give a timeline for everyone:

Jun 19: Completed tests, results are sent in by courier ASAP.
Jun 28: Postal strike ends, I send my RPAL application.
Jul 7: CFO stamps my test results.
Jul 12: Receive the results. Faxed them in.
Jul 18: RCMP website shows my application, marked received Jul 8.

Actually seems to be going pretty quickly given the strike and all. Thought maybe they'd be backlogged worse than this.

Jul 20: Application still missing my test results. I called in, and said because I faxed my test results in before they entered the application into the computer it was probably sent to a different department.

Jul 21: They found the test results, and I did my phone interview. Sent info to my references to call in.

Heres my situation:

Mailed application AND stamped results from the Ontario CFO. Received and signed for in Miramichi June 3rd. This Monday was the end of the 45 day time frame thats given on the website. I called the 1-800 number and they said they were done with my application and that they sent it back to the CFO 2 weeks ago. I called the CFO, and left a message Tuesday AM asking if there was information missing, or if there was anything I could help them with. Waited until this afternoon for a response (they say 1 business day response), no response so I called back, and left another message (this time with reception, before reception forwarded me to an officer).

Sooo frustrating

Does any one have any advice?

The current number I am calling the Ontario CFO at is 705-329-5522. Is there another number I should use?

Yep just got RPal number today. Did the course march 12 and 13. 3 months to get my stamped results back. Probably have to wait 2 more weeks for my card to come in.

This is unreal that there isn't a single standard on how firearms applications are processed and how fast this process is.

I feel some what fortunate that mine went fairly smooth. 32 days from completion of my CFSC and CRFSC to being issued my RPAL#. I'm just waiting for the piece of plastic now.

Well you can see that you apparently have a horseshoe up your ass! ;)
