Sig 1911 TacOps owners - the good, the bad, the ugly?

I know there are a few CGN'ers that have bought the Sig 1911 Tactical Operations model within the past 6-8 months, and seemed to really like them when they posted that they had bought time. I have my eye on one, so I thought I'd ask and see how you guys like them now that you have been shooting them for a few months.

Are you still as happy with the purchase now that you've had it for a while? What problems (if any) have you encountered? If you have owned other 1911s, how does your TacOps compare?

As a footnote, I will add that if you don't own a Sig 1911 TacOps, or haven't previously owned one, or have nothing constructive to add, then please refrain form posting. I don't want to hear about how you hate all Sigs, or how Sig 1911s aren't real 1911s, or how all Sigs made in NA are crap, etc. All I am looking for is honest feedback from people that own or have owned a SIg 1911 TacOps.

I will definitely let you know. My Scorpion arrives at the end of this week... can't wait. Not exactly a tac-ops but essentially the same gun.
 
I have had mine now for about 3 months or so and about 200 rounds down her. She functions flawlessly and is more accurate then I could ever be. I previously have owned a Kimber custom II, and while I have no significant complaints about the Kimber, I still prefer my Sig. Heres why...

-Way more features for less money (If you compare the right models) The TacOps model would compare directly to the Kimber Warrior. The TacOps is about 300 bucks cheaper and has front checkering on the grip, 4 mags included with 2 types of bumpers, and a magwell extension.
-The finish on My Sig is straight up perfection, while my Custom II was ok, but not perfect.
-I prefer the "squared" slide rather then the traditional "rounded" version. It gives it a new modern look.

That's about it really, Sig has done great with their 1911's and there is good value for the buck. As long as they keep making them, they'll be my first choice.

Hey, congratulations on the Scorpion! It looks like a pretty cool gun. I'm curious to see what the colour looks like in person. It seems to look slightly different in every picture. In most pictures that I've seen it looks like it has a flat trigger, but in a few pics it has a more traditional curved solid aluminum one. Do you know which trigger it actually on the gun?

Thanks for the feedback, 50calshooter! That's the kind of info I'm looking for. But why does a 3-month old gun have only 200 rounds down the pipe? :p:D

Krausb-Hey when mine comes, we can probably arrange a time to meet at TSE if you want to give it a try. Questar is where I ordered mine, I haven't seen it any where else.

That's what I keep reading! I Wanted to get one of the 10-8 triggers for my STI, but 10-8 doesn't ship to Canada unfortunately. :(

Beautiful 1911 50 Cal Shooter! I have been dreaming of a SIG 1911 myself.

I had serious reservations about it as well; however, in person it looks just fine and functions great.

Shamefully I only have 50 round through it but it's going to get a workout this weekend.

The fit and finish are exceptional and it feels great in your hand. Beautiful gun. I'm very happy with it so far. I'd get another model without hesitation.

Ive had my 1911 Tactical Operations since November 2010 and run about 1000 rounds through. The thing is a laser beam and its liked all the ammo Ive put through it.

The only issues Ive had is the mag bases on all 4 mags that came with the gun. They are plastic and eventually broke at the rails where they slide into the bottom of the mag. From recent photos Ive seen of the Tac Ops Sig has either changed the mags or upgraded mag bases. The mags were ok quality but the bases were the cheapest and weakest link in my opinion. but hey it gave me an excuse to pick up a couple 10 rounders.
