Hi guys,

I wanted to have a tactical .22lr non-restricted.
So i decided to go with a 10-22 and a Nordic kit.

The only parts i'm w8ting for is the handguard / nut , butt-stock, trigger guard filler and sights
After that i will break-in the barrel.

Here where i need help :
I know the auto bolt release is a must on that gun.
10-22 carabine does not have a good trigger...
I saw Hornet ship to Canada and they got some interesting complete trigger assemblies for sale.
The prices seem to be fair...
You guys got some recommendations ?
Specific model ?

The other thing i asking myself :
Is it worth the money to buy an aftermarket bolt ass. ??
I saw Hornet got some speedbolt assemblies too, and shipping is the same for one item or two...

Any ideas wich muzzle device should i use ?? ( mostly 4 the l@@k cauz its a .22.. )

Here some pics of the parts i got and the differences between the stock barrel and the Dlask BB...
Hope you enjoy :D

RimfireSports . com
Free shipping to canada and they got lots of tidbits.. including the Volq. auto bolt release and trigger groups, parts etc, check it out ;)

For the trigger, i'm better to go with a do-it-myself-trigger-kit or complete trigger assembly ???

How about the trigger pull i should have on that type of riffle ?

Hey Ben,
Not sure there's any single right answer to that.. lots of guys are just fine with the stock 10/22 trigger out of the box.. then some guys like to spend lots of cash for a lighter pull, some guys just like the look of different trigger's on the rifle ascetically..
what's your dope? :)

I don't want to spend 300 bux for a trigger ass. on a 10-22 !!
Dunno maybe 100-150...
I would like to have a better trigger than the factory, with smoth pull and crisp release... O and i forgot to say an auto bolt release !!!

So i received the sights and the trigger guard filler.
I hope to receive buttstock and handguard tomorrow...

For the trigger i will think about it...
Dunno if i go with a do-it-myself kit or a Hornet assembly.
I think i will break-in the barrel like that ( w/o trigger mods ).

Holy cow... ching ching, i can see why some people want $800 for their 10/22 in the EE. I'll never relate to why poeple sink that much time and money into one though... but thats me, to each their own.
and im sorry... w8ing?

That said, it does look pretty cool. Whats the threaded bit at the end of the barrel for? And can someone feed my curiosity, what does the average build like this total?... investment money wise after parts and shipping etc.

Yeah i must admit i'm a little crazy but i'm not the only one !!! :p
I was thinking like you before.
The primary reason is that thing in non-restricted wich is a + for me.
And i just like the feel of it. I can't say its like an AR cauz you don't have the kick and the sound.
But it feel like something tactical ( *read* Ninja :D ) and i just love it...
You can have a brand new or almost new sr22 for 500-600$
There is other options, like : rem 597vtr = 325-375$ , the mosberg tactical = 2XX $ and others are restricted : SeW MP15-22, 500-600$ wich is a pretty good deal imo
Ok i wont name all or i will start another forum !
I wanted this gun last for couples of years so i decided to go with a Ruger !

The 1/2-28 threads on the barrel is for a flash hider, fake can or a muzzle break.... 4 look only its a .22 !!! :HR:

Friday i received the sights but no handguard and buttstock in the mailbox...
Hope to have them before next weekend !!!

I really like the brake. What is it?

To be honest i don't remember exactly the brand of the muzzle... I bought it used from a CGNner couples of weeks ago. I will make some search in my PM's and come back with an answer later...

Very nice. I especially like how you have the Promag magazine on it. What did you say the barrel length was on it?

16.5 Fluted/Threaded .920 Dlask Arms ( Handguard is 10in long... )

what handguard is that? I never seen it before. Rifle Looks Great!!
Yes .. who makes that ??

To make a short story : Its a custom free float handguard : modified ar handguard + custom top rail + custom nut and then all armacoated...

Very nice build, I like the way that mag looks with it !!

Yeah the promag is very nice too without the shell :p

The only one thing you must do if you want to use promag mags on your sr22's is to make a slot behind the mags ( make room for the mag release )...
Sry the pic is not clear i can take another one if you want ???

Reminds me of a Sig SR556 in over all appearance, whomever did the work on the hand guard did a very good job, and now I want another one ... just like yours!

:D

ben777lemay,
Two questions. (1)Why not do your own trigger using the stock components and make a torsion trigger return spring also? Best trigger around and costs nothing but a little time. PM me for the RFC files and link. (2) Where did you get your Nordic stock? I need the little rubber filler piece that goes between the pistol grip and trigger guard for my little tactical project. I just have a piece of foam which looks a little hokey IMO.
