Maybe because most don't know about them. I didn't.
Where are they? Who are they? Contacts?
There are a couple others too, no info, nothing.
These Canadians companies are Ghosts.

Google it. Nothing comes up but some random chatter and a dead website.

Unless you are involved in organized precision shooting you have no idea of all the available options.

Buy Canadian, sure. But you have to make it readily available, not just word of mouth. It is 2011 after all.

Unless your active member here, or a competitive shooter you would have no idea what Canadian options are available. I know that everyone is very busy and the economy is not great, but really what does a useful website cost? Take a look at almost all the successful business, communication is a key to them. If the excuse is that all the Canadian barrel manufacturers are too busy that means there is room for another company to step it up.

I would be interested to know more about those Canadian Barrel makers, so I can consider buying from them next time.

Thanks in advance for the info

like several of the previous posters have said .......

where are all the candian barrel makers hiding ?

is it a lack of advertising ?
not enough production ?
or are krieger barrels that much better than everything else ?

I'm guessing one problem most the Canadian makers have is that they are mostly one man outfits like Gaillard. He's got a big enough following he doesn't advertise much because his limiting reagent is himself.

Krieger has more than one guy making barrels and from what I've heard they are very, very consistently good barrels.

Maybe all the Canadian barrel makers should get together and have one web site.
then just a page for each individual maker. And their speciality(ies).
It wouldn't have to be up-to-the-minute with current inventory, tho that'd be nice, obviously.

To put this thread back on track.

Sean I think you will do well with the krieger's, especially if you would offer a barreled action with the Pierce action with a krieger barrel.

For all you kind barrel dealers:

Who ever can import and then sell a shztload of M14 barrels will be successful! We have well over 5000 (more like a few more grand) Norc/Poly M14 boomsticks imported since 2002 and I'm getting (I'm certain M14Doctor does not wanna hear this...) more and more requests if I know a line on NM barrels in Canada. People are looking for Med, Standard USGI , and Hvy NM profiled barrels...

I smell an opportunity here.... :nest:

juanvaldez, JW Precison, and Mysticplayer; if you folks can sniff out some M14 barrels, we can keep you busy for years! :D The CGNutz community will truly rally around you dudes! :)

That boat is nearing the port so hope to have some great news for all your M1A/M305 shooters in the coming months.

Give M14Doctor a shout and get inline.

For Ted Gaillard it used to be (306) 752-3769 in Pathlow, SK. And as a side note most of you sports nutz have probably seen his daughter on Sportsnet,...(Martine Gaillard).

For us quality needs to come in quantity which is harder than it sounds...many shops can produce a handful of great barrels..When you need hundreds of them at a time it gets trickier. In our experience only Krieger can do this...

Would you be prepared to list the barrel makers that have failed to meet your criteria?

Or at least the number of barrel makers that have attempted but failed to meet your requirements?

They are virtually all great barrel makers...the issue lies in being able to delivery quantity and quality at the same time and on time...

I honestly feel that for serious target shooters and gunsmiths there are a great many of amazing choices...a good problem to have.
