Got two of my Mosins from westrifle.com

1. 1939 Mosin is a beaty I stole it from their website as soon as it came up there Vlad said that he had 3 more orders within an hour. What can I say at $110 dollars it was a daylight robbery. It was clean inside out barrel was in best condition I ever saw. Web site said good, they lied it was excellent. Stock with no scratches. They also pointed out that they had a deal for ammo and mosin
Mosin Nagant 1891/30 + 200 rds of MFS ammuntion

Sale : $250.00
*not included shipping and taxes

2. 1942 Sniper Repo was excellent also att 550 cheapest in Canada. I was thinking of buying scope and bent bolt from them and doing it myself for fun, but then decided to buy the rifle. They gave me another deal for LVE 200 rds since I bought 2 rifles from them.
LVE ammo is the bomb. In my opinion it is much better than MFS accuracy wise and quality wise it is brass wash so it is much better for my rifle barrel. I LOVE IT

I made the same deal with the rifle/ammo combo for 250 bucks. The rifle was in my hands withing two days and it was beautiful with shiny and heavy bore. Will fire it up this weekend when i go out to the mountains.

Who says hunting or shooting is expensive? These are top quality rifles for 110 bucks.

i ordered a mosin some weeks back from Sergey and very delighted with the rifle and accessories. bore was bright and in excellent shape. the rifle's stock is in nice shape. after a good cleaning, i have had it out to the range and it shot very well....(to the right of course.....since adjusted the sights)
i have read a couple of posts regarding west rifle and problems ordering..not sure how, i found the transaction with them very good with absolutely no issues. (other than Canada Post decided to go on strike and keep my rifle hostage for a week). for $110 it was a great buy. would certainly use Sergey again....i hope a SVT40 is in my future to add to my little milsurp collection

I have rifle #4 coming from Westrifle now,one of the $110 Mosins,...so I guess I won't be disappointed 'eh.....:)

Not everyone wins in the $110 Mosin lottery. Mine came with a broken (due to heavy rusting) rear barrel band retainer. Without a functioning retainer the barrel band and upper handguard walk forward under recoil. No help from supplier yet (after exchange of 4 emails). I haven't been able to locate the part from a supplier in Canada or one in the US who will ship to Canada. Short of putting a wood screw in front of the barrel band, I'm not sure what to do with this rifle.

Given the aggravation and lack of success in locating the part I need, I wish I hadn't bought a sight unseen, bargain Mosin.

The Mosin I got actually does the same thing - rear band doesn't hold still so the upper handguard walks forward after a shot or two. I'm experimenting with a file and a spring to see if I can fix the retainer.

Otherwise though, my Mosin from Westrifle is quite good; bent-bolt on it, good war date and enough dents and notches on the stock to suggest it had seen fighting and not just been on the back lines. Would have liked a nicer bore, but still shoots well and I'm tweaking loads to get it just right, but even so I can ring the 100-yard gong five shots out of five off the bench, which is good enough for hunting, which is what this one is destined for.

Lots of rifles the upper band moves forward a bit. I don't really see it as a problem unless wants to come all the way off, in which case a shim under the back spring can stiffen it up plenty enough to solve the problem.

Not sure if anyone is into loading this bullet, but I'm finding without exception that a .312 bullet works better for accuracy in every 7.62x54R rifle that I've tried. Apart from reloading, PRVI and S&B ammo are good quality ammo available in both fmj and soft points in several bullet weights. I've recently tried the MFS ammo in 200 grain soft points with reasonably good preliminary results, but haven't done any longer range or penetration testing yet.

The PRVI, S&B, and MFS loads all shoot well and are clean to shoot. So if going out for a few days and don't have time for field stripping and cleaning, you have no concerns of corrosive residue from surplus ammo.

Yeah; my bore is .3135, so it just loves .312 - good idea to slug the bore before loading those, though; Finn- and Yankee-made barrels are closer to .308 dia. Heavy grains seems the preference, too - longer bullets to reach the lands.

What irritates me is that only Hornady sells them, so it's either hornady or make my own. While I would like to, it'd be difficult to melt lead in the alley behind my apartment...

I've tried Speer .311" 150 grain SP bullets in my SVT 40 with decent results. Going to try them in my brand spanking new Mosin very shortly. What kind of groups are you guys getting at 100 yards?

My current load is 48 grains of IMR 4064 under the Speer 150gr .311" SP. Hopefully the Mosin likes it too.

My new Mosin is also from Westrifle. It took me a full three hours to clean all the cosmo out. I stripped it right down including a full strip of the bolt. Simple Green works wonders. The bore was filthy, but that's to be expected. I can't believe this firearm was only $110, great service and quick shipping from Westrifle, the only problem was the rear sight was almost through the cardboard box, could use a slight bit more renforcment for shipping. The rifle is in very good condition as advertised, such a bargain I may have to buy another.

Damn!
I really really don't need another gun, but... do you do pickups? I want an excuse to sneak away from work tomorrow.
