Your favorite Grouse gun?

I use my Win 1300 20 gauge. Can't bring my new cynergy into the thick stuff just yet, but I will use it on the barrens for ptarmigan.

Grandma and Grandpa's old single shot .410 Cooey. Shot my first Grouse with it and it will be what my son and daughter shoot their first birds with as well. Dad's family had many meals off of that old gun. I am thankful we get to use it for fun and to remember.

My Winchester 101G D.U 50th. with 27" Winchoke barrels,,,weighs only 7 pounds and the weight is dead centre between the hands making it balanced and quick.

On post #2, I named and showed a picture of what I class as my #1 choice or favorite. However, probably the most productive Grouse gun I have is a 410 single shot Ranger that sits on the dash of my truck on Moose hunts for basically 'ditch chickens'. Very likely, it's accounted for more Willow Grouse than any other shotgun I have. 'Inexpensive':p but productive and effective.

Many years ago I received a single shot H&R Topper in 20 gauge from a friend of mine that past away. We used to kill a pile of grouse with that simple little shotgun and it continues to kill many grouse each year.

Simple and cheap but by far my favorite. My old hunting buddy would be proud :)

My favorite grouse gun is a rem 1100 with a 24 inch barrel , mod choke, loaded with 1 oz 7 1/2 shot. basicly a 20 gauge . some say over kill , but normally hunt in alot of bush and lost my fair share when using a 410. Plus nabbed afew coyetes with it . Like hving options
