Hello forum this is my first post. I found your forum by searching on the above topic and maybe some of you will have the answers.
I decided that it would be cool to buy a "black" gun but I don't want to own something that has been nerfed, so I'm not interested in some model that should be select fire but has been broken so it's only semi. This caused me to think about designated marksman rifles because in real use they are used as semi-automatic rifles. Many of them aren't even select fire.
I also am not interested in the hassle of a restricted weapon. I want something I can bring around with me and enjoy, not just show off in my basement, so I really want a non restricted rifle.
I'm also not interested in historic guns. I'd like something modern. Something that lives up to present standards and is something that real mils actually still use.
So is there such a thing? It seems to me that there should be.
I have had a hard time tracking down exactly what is, and is not restricted, but it seems that some arbitrary rules have ruled out some guns that otherwise should have been non-restricted are actually restricted because they are based on a restricted gun, even when even the military model is limited to semi-automatic fire and has a longer barrel.
Suggestions?
If I get some choices I'd prefer something light weight, reliable and obviously in a DMR gun you want it to be accurate.
