OK I will try again, slots based on performance at the best 2 out of the last 3 Nationals is only true for the popular divisions. If the RD makes an arbitrary decision your division is not popular you wont count in the process.

It's drivable for me. So I'm thinking a nice three week holiday with my own wheels. Wife meets me there the second week so she doesn't have to sit through a week of me with my game face. And I can bring as much ammo as I want.

Life is good.

I am sure lots of us would love to go if we could get a slot. Me included!!!!!

There may be a lot slots unused/available slots. Some countries need visas to USA and may not bother to go there and this may open lots of slots. Off course I am speculating but this may happen. Shooters can get there from waiting list, maybe??

I tend to agree with peterpan on this one... I bet there is quite a few members from countries that are on some sort of US "List" as "undesirables"... many may not go thru the hastle of the paperwork.
Only speculating....
It is probably no different this year... Canada probably gave back slots and Greece and other local countries were begging for slots.

Canada won't be giving back slots to this one. Will be a popular match. Time will tell but I really don't see us gettIng extra slots.

From Vince's own post:

The 2012 IPSC Assembly will be held in Paraguay in conjunction with the Pan-American Handgun Championship.
Handgun Modified Division ceases to exist 1 January 2012, but Shotgun Modified Division survived.

The 2014 Handgun World Shoot XVII will be held at Frank Garcia's range in Frostproof, Florida, USA (Votes 26 USA, 25 Thailand).

President Nick Alexakos reelected (Votes 41 for Nick Alexakos, 11 votes for challenger Stephanie Kieninger).

All Rules Committee proposals passed :( (including one about no sight picture on start)
except for the Production Division minimum single-action trigger pull. :dancingbanana: w:h:

All other rule proposals failed except for the one in favour of additional funding for WinMSS. :( (All Sean's proposals about small and large targets and poppers were rejected)

IPSC Mini-Rifle was approved but implementation will be delayed pending investigation of the protest by the USA that the introduction of IPSC Mini-Rifle is unconstitutional. (can't agree more with USA)

IPSC Classic Division overwhelmingly approved (53 votes in favour, with only the Netherlands voting against it)

Forget it in terms of getting an easy path to the next World Shoot in Florida, the USPSA/IPSC shooters in the lower 48 will likely eat up the spare slots for this match. They have a qualifying process for their USPSA Nationals and folks are vying for spare slots in this match, never mind the thoughts of a World Shoot!

Canada has consistently returned slots for the World Shoots so I doubt if we will have any special favors to count, so we will most likely be looking at 60 slots.

If so, choose an "official popular division", suck up the cost of three Canadian nationals and take you chances.

On the other hand, you may stand a better chance of getting a slot by joining USPA and hoping for a wild card there!

Yet there was about 60 walk-ins at the last USPSA Nationals this September.

No you don't. IPSC Rules are pretty strict about home Region. Unless you move to US, you're part of Canada.
