when someone doesn't have the decency to acknowledge a buyer when they say they will take a gun at asking price. In this case I pm'd the buyer saying I would take said gun within 15 minutes of it being posted and I was viewer # 10. That was 3 days ago and 2 pm's and no response. If he sold it to someone else before me I believe the proper thing to do is acknowledge that it is sold, although it is still listed. Guess some people just have no manners and this is a newbie so it's a poor way to get a rating. Maybe he is gone away but it is still foolish to post an add, then bugger off within 15 minutes. Sorry, I just had to rant. Maybe if the seller reads this he will get the drift.

Is it a "new" guy?

1) Lost his login information... or notices of PM are going to his junk mail... or has pop-up disabled on his computer.

2) Thinks that he asked too little... and is trying to wiggle it's way out of a sale...

.

Ho well, there are worst things in life
(This really ought to be in the OT section)

Yep, it is a new guy with one post . Could be he lost his password or something but I have the feeling it is something different. It is a low priced shotgun and he lists the dollar amount he wants or that he would like to trade for certain guns. I think he is waiting to see if someone will trade him and if not, then he will likely contact me saying it's a deal. If he wants to hold out for a trade, that is fine but at least respond to a willing customer. Again, this is speculaton on my part but it still burned me. I am going to have a stiff drink and fondle my other guns and forget about it.

Have one for me too! I won't be opening the bar here until my wife gets home at 5:30 pm.
Cheers,
islandguy

Thats a poor excuse. Then people should put I am not always easy to get ahold of. I have doen this when on the road or on holiday. Lack of manners and respect for others. I have PM'd people that say in their for sale post that they reply to everyone, and have gotten no reply at all. Not a new guy, I have a great trader rating, he has a long history so what gives. Very frustrating.

Not everyone sits around their computer waiting for PM's and Emails to come through. I've had buyers take several days to get back to me because they have jobs where internet is not available to them. Yes, places like this still exist. It's one thing if he sold it and just ignored people still making offers. Its another if he hasn't replied at all, why take it personally..

I had someone list a firearm for $xx.xx....I P.M.d him and asked a few questions to which he replied and we settled on price....Voila....first "I'll take it" rule applied. So it's mine right? Same thing no replies....no emails. Next thing I know his ad says "SPF". I'm still thinking its me. Come to find out a buddy was also interested in same rifle and seller quoted him a higher price "due to demand".To make a long story short he sold to someone else, not me.I just made sure that his Trader Rating etc reflected his actions and my feelings inre: to his actions....

Ever notice how you never see people complain about buyers on the EE hassling them with too many impatient PM's? Oh that's right, you won't because those people have better things to do. It's both Thanksgiving and hunting season. We should all be so lucky as to get away from the computer.

My pet peeve: People constantly ##### and moan when they're attempts at communication go unanswered; when people don't respond to text messages, emails, BBMs, or cell phone calls... but I've wanted to ask them why they are owed an instantaneous response?

Happened to me last Friday. I was the 4th viewer said I would take it and he was getting back to me with a final shipped price to my postal code.Did not hear a word for days dispite a couple of e-mails. Finally got back to me and said it was gone. A guy puicked it up last friday since he really didnot want to go through the trouble of shipping it. HELLO say that in your dam add.Pick up only
Or better send off a money order to have it returned two weeks later for the same reason, He said not worth his trouble shipping to me when he had a guy pick it up for the same price. Some should not be alllowed to sell period.

With no responce to my full offeres in the first day, I just figure sold to another CGN'r, I hope they enjoy the gun!
But I understand the fustration when it is a gun you have been looking foir for years, Dale Z!

I replied to an ad on the EE about something for sale. I waited for a reply. The seller didn't have the decency to reply to me that it was gone. But I saw a couple of hours later that he had changed it to SPF.

That's only happened a couple of times to me. I considered putting a time limit on my offers, but for the most part, couldn't be bothered as it happens so rarely. But then again, with some outrageous low-ball offers I get, I'm tempted to ignore because I'm so annoyed.
