Shipping from Rimfire Sports no longer available to Cananda

I was just about to order a Volquartsen trigger kit and noticed theres a message at the top of the website :

Effective 10/09/11, we will no longer be accepting international orders. Until further notice, orders placed on 10/09/11, or after, that requiring shipping to an international address will not be accepted.

They also changed their free shipping statement to include only orders in the USA when it used to say Canada too.

I talked to Alan about a week ago and he was getting REALLY pissed at the time it took Canada Post to deliver his shipments and all the lost parcels he was experiencing when shipping to Canada.
I guess it finally hit the boiling point..... :mad: :mad:
 
Yes, this has nothing to do with Canada. I was informed by both Numrich and Havlins a year ago that they will no longer ship to Canada. They said it is because of US customs laws since 911. Apparently the law was there since 911 but wasn't really clear on what could or could not be shipped. But as of a year ago they told me that customs has really cracked down on them. In fact, when I phoned Havlins the Canadian phone number showed on their end and before I had a chance to speak I was told they cannot accept my order. I could not even pay with a Canadian credit card and have it sent to a US addres. Same with Numrich. They would not accept a Canadian form of payment. I know even Cabelas here in Winnipeg told me a year ago that they cannot even ship rifle scopes down there. So I think you would have to write to U.S. Congress to complain.

is on the list for don't need export licenses for all parts and scopes out of the states.....

How long ago and who did you buy from. Certain things will ship but most gun parts will not. Also, I believe if all the necessary permits that the US requires sellers to acquire and fill out were obtained, then they could probably ship. But I think they figure it is not worth the cost and time to bother. Because even with the permits, ceretain things still cannot be shipped. Of course things are still being sent off of ebay because some of these sellers don't realize ( or care) that they are breaking the law. If you notice on ebay or gun broker, 99% of the adds say they will not ship gun parts out of the country. There is a reason for that, as much as it sucks.
 
The large market in the U.S. is more than adequate for gun pars companies. The problem is that the Canadian firearms market can get the rifles but parts are not brought in at the same time. What small business would want to have a large inventory tying up their cash? Not many. Warranty? Sending the firearm to the U.S. is easy but getting it back takes much paperwork increasing the wait time.
Canadian firearms companies keep selling out to large American companies. It seems we simply cannot have our own domestic gun companies.

I've ordered from Numrich within the last couple of months, not a problem and ordered 200$ in stuff from them via my credit card.
 
Numrich has killer(as in, not good) shipping charges.

But when you're all out of options, it's better then nothing.

Terrible news.

Incredible timing though that I managed to get my order in before that notice (for a stock of all things)... interesting too that my order got a tracking number.

Thanks for posting about the other countries which are ALLOWED to order the good stuff from the US.
 
That sucks. I just received a package of 10/22 goodies yesterday and I was going to order more. Lucky to have ordered when I did I guess. Shipping only took 9 days.
 
crappy deal, luckily I got my order in last week, oh well time to road trip across the boarder again, not our customs thats the issue its the zipperheads that think were all terrorists, mind you my brownels order hasnt come in yet nor my boyds stock and its been 3 weeks

What was it you ordered? I tried placing orders 3 times within the past 10 months for old Mossberg .22 parts and it was the same response each time, will not ship gun parts to Canada. It was the same with Havlins.
 
That hurts.
I just received about three weeks ago my Hi-viz V-compensator for my 22/45 Mark III.
I was just waiting for VQ to manufacture (which VQ told me they were in the process of) the spring-assisted magazine ejector for the 22/45.
I'm sorry to see Rimfiresports being placed in such a corner. Their service was always A+++
