Put up your mausers!!

are they hard to find or something?

In full military, from what I have seen, yes.

A number of them seem to be popping up recently that have been sporterized to varying degrees (not like a few inches of wood and a nose cap really take the weight off much anyway ?). Nose caps are, from what I have been told from collectors in the U.S., nearly impossible to find by themselves.

i have noticed that many seem to be cut down. which is odd since it doesn't have a bayo lug or stacking hook or anything like that. in fact, it is very similar to the mannlicher schoenauer carbines (other than having a much thicker barrel owing to the caliber).

Are we counting Vz 24 and variants as mausers? I believe they were based on mauser actions.

I would say yes as I, for example, posted some Swedes and a Spanish.

Why anyone would cut down a carbine further is beyond me...

OK then, here is my small collection of mausers:

Swedish M1896 1900 Mauser Oberndorf
Polish K98 1927 P.W.B. Radom
German Capture Polish Wz 29 1936 F.B. Radom
Spanish Civil War scrubbed Polish Wz 29 year unknown F.B. Radom
Yugoslavian M1924 Short Rifle 1935 (can't remember the arsenal at this moment)
Russian Capture ce 41 K98k 1941 J.P. Sauer
Czech TGF 50 K98k 1950 Brno

and as I believe this is a mauser action also - Tikka T3 Lite (could be wrong here)

Fugawi, I'd love to see some pictures of your Poles! That's a high one on my list.

Major sights, very nice and clean 1916 short rifle :).

Nyles, those 1889s are beautiful, what a story they could tell from WW1 and 2 eh ?

Seems like K98's are almost hard to come by at a decent price, anyone have any recommendations for someone who wants a Mauser pattern Rifle for his collection and don't have a bunch of cash to spend at the moment. Iv looked at the BRNO and Yugo Mauser's any suggestions or opinions.

I got collectinitus, watch out, it is contagious and feeds graciously on the "green mineral" in your wallets.

Well I must admit, rifle #16 is on the way for me, but its not something you would like, its only a basic CG63 Target Rifle in 6.5x55. :)
