Nice to see somebody using good old reliable iron sights. How far of a shot did you take?

I have the same rife in 30-06, and I love the way it points. Almost like an extension of my arm.

Shot wasn t long around 50 yards, the SAKO handles real nice and has become my favorite deer rifle.Have two other doe tags to fill so the SAKO will be back out again on Monday

I would also like to use open sights. However, old eyes are the limiting factor..Probably a bunch of fellows in the same boat..Use them as long as you can,and enjoy it while you can.....

Looks like its shaping up to be a good year for Sako 85s, and a bad year for slick headed critters of the hooved persuasion

Also ventilated a little black bear with it in September.
