95 grain .243 hornady sst around 60 yards. This buck was hanging around the property for a long time but went missing for almost a month until last night. I was trying to walk through some very thick brush as quiet as possible but decided to just crash through because I kept getting snagged up.

On the other side I saw two bucks start running away full speed. The smaller one never stopped and ran off in to the trees. This one started to slow down so I was going to take a shot at him running (yah I know). He slowed right down, stopped and faced me perfectly so I pulled the trigger. I am %100 sure it was dead before it hit the ground his legs went out stiff as it fell and it never moved once.

Now I do not know if it would be considered a 4 or 5 point. It has one tine growing out of its head on one side. If it were to live another year or two it would have been very interesting. I'll take a better pick of the rack once I have the skull cleaned up. It is pretty funky looking on both sides.

I also forgot.. tell me about that .243 thread ;)

Nice buck and cool story, congrats.

Well went out with a friend last night, we disturbed two or three nice does on the way around the wood, its so hot here (41 deg C yesterday) that the deer are stying put in the damper woodland glades till about dusk. The fallow bucks should have started rutting but it may be too warm

Still nice to see the does behaving as expected, our local herd is about 120 strong and will need thinning out on the first of November.

Skinned, trimmed and delivered to the butcher this bull weighed in at 756 lbs (bone in).
44" Bone hat - look at those spears!
Taken with a post 64 Winchester Model 70 rebarelled to 35 whelen
200gr Hornady RN @ 2630 fpd
250m shot

Called him in from about 850 metres
He closed the distance FAST and was ready to fight
Beautiful animal - no bruising - very healthy

Got this guy on Oct 1 and filled the doe tag on the 22nd. While I was gutting the doe another very nice buck walked by at the corner of the field I have been hunting. My boy still has a tag to fill and this is the second time I've seen that buck in the last week. With a little luck I'll post his pic too. You just have to love the October muzzle loader season in Sask. I'm tagged out and I avoid hunting in -20 weather.:D

Here's my first black bear! Walked out into a chopping 110 yds away around 5 pm. By the time I got into a firing position from my treestand it was out of sight behind trees. Showed itself a few times and then finally offered a good shot.

Sure got the heart rate up.

Lots of bears in my area, always at the bait piles but after dark. I think this one ate my mineral block last week.
