Wait is over! I got it in the mail today. I think that I am going to start this thread from a beginning from an initial impressions, range report, upgrades etc. I figured, that is might be useful for a community since this rifle, well at least this implementation is new.

Package from Wolverine. Great safe packaging as usual, thanks! :)

Carbine feels really nice, finish is much better than on my CZ 858, matte black and colour is very uniform. I was worried a bit about colour since product pictures on the Wolverine site gave me an impression that different parts of have a different shades of black. It's not the case for my particular sample.
Built is really nice, all parts go together very tightly, but not too tight. Filed stripping is very easy, same as it's older brother. Very, very impressed with the carbine overall.
Now, to the magazines...:( PLastic body with plastic lips... I am not sure for how long they will last. Plus, they look horrible. IMHO. This carbine MUST have a metal mags! This is the only one negative so far.
I also got an Ar-15 well adapter. Didn't installed it yet.

Very nice! I just ordered my x39 11.8" CSA from Wolverine - can't wait. I had no idea weather I should have gone with the 5.56 or the 7.62.

And if that is the used on that was on their website that is now sold - nice grab! I called to order it and was told it had sold :p

Yes the CSA's safety flip forward. I have both the CZ858 and a CSA VZ58 in 5.56. I am still trying to get used to the screwy difference in the safeties. Why didn't they make them all the same?

How "useful" is a 11" 5.56? I was looking hard at the CSA carbines and had the x39 been on sale I would have ordered one instead of a shorty M14 from CanAm.

The 7.62x39 ballistics suffer very little out of a 11.8" barrel in comparison to a 5.56 out of the same length barrel. But, since it is restricted and can only see combat at the gun club, who cares?

Probably no more useful then an 11" AR... Sure looks good though.:D

Great pics id64! Thanks for posting. I've been seriously considering one and your pictures aren't helping me resist the urge.

I care, thus I did not buy the 5.56 version and because the x39 was not on sale, I didn't buy it.

It is entirely possible that the laws will be changed back into our favor and a short barreled rifle could be used for hunting. A CSA carbine in x39 is probably going to have a better effective range than the 5.56 version. I would rather take a coyotee down with a round I know will do the job than risk injuring it and it getting away in pain and being unable to put it out of the misery I caused.

Yes it certainly is a hot rifle, I spent a good amount of time thinking hard about buying one!
