NGD - Ruger Redhawk 4.2 (.44 Mag)

PC81,

Here's a pic of my gap. I don't know how you were able to focus the camera but this is the best I could do. Hope it helps.

 .......loaded gun pointing at your own head? :D

Very nice guns. You would think with all the experience Ruger has with castings they could do a better job with the fitting. I know it doesn't effect function but it sure distracts fro the guns looks and it should be an easy fix if Ruger cared to fix it. I hope their new .22LR has the same fit and finish as my GP-100.

Take Care

Bob

Mine is a really good shooter if not the most accurate 45 Colt chambered revolver I've ever played with.
However I do think the QC guy if Ruger has one was not around when mine was made.
Exterior finish is fine but the inside of the frame especially around the firing pin hole has a bunch of scratches and tool marks that could have been polished out.
Considering the fact that I did not get any change back from $1000, I do think they could have done a bit better .
Just my 2 cents worth....

I will try to post pics to show what I mean.

So late last night, I plugged in a show and started cleaning my gun after her range trip. I spent a good hour or so really going over it, and oiled it up well. Anyways, long story short, the gap between the crane and the frame has really closed up after I blasted a bunch of crap out from the yoke and crane.... Must have just had a little grime build up. It's still not perfect, but looks like JohnTO's now.

Thanks for the input guys.

lets see some new pics for comparison if you dont mind.

Hey, no problem GG34. It's still not perfect, but looks a bit better to me. Doesn't seem to be out any more than JohnTO's to my eyes. Maybe a small piece od sand or something was in there (or maybe nothing at all) who knows. Either way, I am not worried about it anymore.

One thing I know for sure, is this gun was clean when I received it.

dude as long as your happy, im happy. I want you to be happy with your purchase 100 percent. Its a great piece that i would have kept if i wasnt so broke, dam this habit is expensive!

Hey, nothing in life is perfect. It shoots fantastic, and there appears to be tons of Redhawks on hte market that have this issue. If it bothers me in the future, I can send it to a smith to have it find tuned for asthetics.

Honestly, and JohnTO can vouch for me, I am just happy to have this gun right now. It's been on the wish list for a long time.
