Cz97b?

I am looking for a 1911 type of pistol.

I am digging the 97b.

Any opinions?

Huge grip. It's too large for my medium size hands (but they are well put together).

I have large hands & like mine. It almost equals the accuracy of my Colt Gold Cup.

As with most handguns it is best to try it before you buy one.

Mine shoot well in bullseye shooting. Not so well in IPSC. I had 5 mags costing $60 each cause there propriatary mags. Meaning only cz mags fit. I shot 5000 reloaded rounds a year through mine. No hickups. Then I bought a STI, never looked back.

Great pistol and yes like stated above it is no 1911. I too have medium sized hands and find the grips fit me perfectly. They really arent that large as everyone says they are. Best bet is to go somewhere that has one and hold it. The you can be the judge.

My hands are med size with short fingers and it fits my hand nice!!! Ive never fired one but handled one in the store and it was VERY comfortable. The double action pull on CZ's is really good. WAAAAAAY better than a Ruger double pull IMO.

I really like the 97B I use mine for production in IPSC. The .45 cal allows me to see the holes in the targets! A 10 round 45 semi what`s not to like. Currently the 97B is not allowed to be used in IDPA due to it's being to heavy??? I started out with a CZ75 went to a 1911 and then I found the gun that fit me. I had to make my own holster because they are hard to find for the 97B.

In all seriousness, as already mentioned - The CZ97 has an enormous grip, but is otherwise an outstanding pistol. You may have trouble locating magazines for it.

Can't say about the two guns you mentioned, but it is certainly larger than a 1911.

I own a Tanfoglio Combat .45, excellent gun, modelled after the CZ and a couple hundred dollars cheaper for at least the same quality.

I would pass on the CZ and get a S&W M&P 45. The next best alternatives for modern .45s that aren't 1911s are the HK45 and Glock 21SF or 4th Generation in that order.

That is subjective, does not have the Sig P226 (I know their is a $600 limit but the Beretta M9 is on the list as well).

First of all, the CZ97 is not the same thing as a CZ 75. Second, any list including such gems as anything Taurus, XD, SIG P250, and the Beretta PX4 (to name some examples) must surely be using the word "best" in a purely ironic sense.

beat me too it. there is nothing wrong with a CZ97B. well, except for that its not a 1911, but thats another story. i have owned cz pistols and aside from how they feel in my hand, are great accurate guns.
