Ruger Mini-14 : If it wasn't for the A-Team and their use of this rifle :redface: , I'd never have gotten into firearms :wave: , paid a small fortune on rimfires and esp. multiple 10/22's and accessories (my "gateway" firearm to black rifles) :eek: , spent thousands of hours reading-up on firearms and military history (including/esp. Canada's, once I really got into it :canadaFlag: ) , and in fact I might not have even initially gotten my PAL, RPAL, and CGN sign-in were it not for 'em....

It all began with those *#@%*! Mini-14's ! .....:D

Plus, they seem to p!$$-off Wendy & Co. and the lefties in QC a fair bit, so that's all good.
 
i wish i could vote for the sub2000 ,, BTW a new all steel Mini14 with the heavier tapered barrel is a better firearm than the plastic su16, yes i know the su16 takes AR mags but im comparing quality , service life , reliability .. Also here in Canada the Mini14 is about the same price as the US, but the su16 is almost twice as much here!!! WTF? If i could pick up a su16 for $400 like in the US i would be allover it ..

I left all the pistol-caliber ones out: Sub2000, JR Carbine, CX4 Storm, Kriss, USC, etc. So which one "sucks less": The Mini-14 or SU-16? ;)

I heard the MR1 is a very accurate ultra reliable firearm and will out shoot any non restricted black rifle in its price range.. So the only thing bad about it is its ugly? well i will say it again, a person should not treat firearms like a fashion show if they ever plan to hunt , survive , defend themselves one day with them .. pick the best rifle for the job no matter how it looks .. Some of the best firearms ever made were once thought very ugly before they developed a reputation .. im a huge believer in function over form ..

well from what i have read on CGN the past year or so the MR1 out of the box will out shoot the Mini14 , SU16 and the more expensive XCR and Tavor ?? there is a thread around where a guy is showing his groups and they look as good as the groups i shoot with my Swiss Arms!

Have you shouldered and fired one with an optic (especially an ACOG or Lucid type)? Taken it down and reassembled it quickly? If you had, I'm quite certain you wouldn't be defending it quite as passionately. ;)

And I never once said it was ugly. Unholy aberration yes, but not ugly. :)

Send him your Swiss Arms and let him shoot both side-by-side with the same ammunition. Be sure to post the results!

Addendum: Just to be clear, I'm not suggesting the Benelli MR1 is the worst black rifle out there (I don't even think that honour goes to the XCR anymore...). It's in the list because of various comments and user feedback, as are the Tavor, FS200, ACR, etc. It may shoot great - but the stock sucks, ergonomics are horrible, it has fixed BUIS and the controls are definitely not intuitive.
 
Kel-tec SU16. Reminds me of those ugly, ghey folding comb/brush combos from the 80's... makes you want to wear bell bottoms and a velour shirt to the range while shooting to the beat of a Bee Gee's tune...

I have a 1/7 swiss with a 4x optic and i have shot 77gr hand loads with varget powder and my groups were not much better than his, and im a weekly shooter i know how to shoot . Why dont you go look at some swiss groups pics before you talk out of your ass ..theres plenty pics on CGN see how much better they are . BTW $1500 20 inch Hbar AR15 with a match trigger will out shoot a Swiss Arms,
