So I have been patiently awaiting the unionized folk at Canada post to get off there turkey engorged backsides and update my online tracking info for a gun I bought before Christmas... Expected delivery date was posted as Jan/4/12 but online it never moved from its city or origin... Till noon today it came up as "attempted delivery"????? Too good to be true!... A brief 35min call for the STATT (must be alot of folks buying guns today), and it was on its way home...

Mmmmmm I like black cases... I prefer them a bit smaller then this one tho... Must be something big in there??

+1, get a 1911, then start a new thread titled "First REAL gun".

J/K, congrats, too bad the GLOCK 30 Gen 4 is no where in sight, might have to settle for a Gen 3.

Hey now, it's my first GLOCK! Not my first gun! Everyone needs a Glock rite?!?!

Had a few 1911, fun to shoot but just don't get all excited when I think about .45... A full house 180gr 10mm load on the other hand.... :D

I was thinking of going glock when i get off my arse and get my rpal, but then i shot a 1911 on a steel plate course. Now i just have to stop being a student and start being paid and get the shiny springfield i want. 10mm does sound cool though. Ah maybe both , like they say the more the merrier

I feel your pain... I'm working on my liscense to print money rite now but even at a first years rate I have alot of surplus funds! Don't think I could ever be a full time student, I like money too much :D

Welcome to the club :) I am new to them as well and love how simple it is to take apart and it is more accurate than I can be.
I have a 1911 in 45 ACP as well but I can see me using my new Gen 4 34 alot more than it now....

My G34 is one of my favourites too "am getting under 3" at 20m with mine"

Glock is plenty accurate if you pull the trigger right

.....simple to take appart eh... I suppose it is...

So is this thing really safe to shoot? It's mostly plastic and has lots of small pieces!... Hmmm. Maybe I shoulda went with a nice GP 100 ;)

I'm in the 1911 crowd - my first semi was a Govt model series 80 - but if I got another .45 it would prolly be a Springfield or Kimber or...

I just don't want a whole bunch of different calibers to feed :(

Why not???? If you reload then your familiar with component cost fluxuations! I Take advantage of deals on brass/bullets/primers/powders when ever I see em and shoot more in the calibers I get good deals on! More calibers = more choice, that's a good thing in my books!

Hmmmm who sells 10mm mags? I need 2 more.

I'd be interested in knowing how the recoil is. Could you post your thoughts after your shoot? Cheers

Had the 10mm in mind for quite some time.......

Sure, but with factory AE 10mm that's supposedly loaded to .40 Short & Weak spec's I'm going to say it will shoot like any big frame mid weight .40 handgun... I wanted to load up some 155gr and 180gr near max but I can't seem to find power pistol powder anywhere close by!! Kinda partial to the stuff seeing Its my target load in 9mm and I don't want to mix bulk reloads with a different powder.

But I will take it thru the paces this weekend to see how she works an let you know!

All commercial 10mm (in Canada) is very tame/lame. To get the full potential of the cartridge, you need to reload.
Or source out Cor-Bon, Double Tap, Black Hills, etc north of the border.... good luck..

True - but right now I'm reloading 9mm, 44mag .223 and 12 gauge.

If I got the .45acp it would be dies, conversion kit, quick change kit, brass and bullets - the only thing I could double up on is powder. My OCD would not allow me 1/2 measures...

ATOH - that Springfield Loaded 1911-A1 does look pretty sweet...
