where can I get SE Vortex flash hinder?

Ridiculous price difference. Oh wait! I forgot! It's because of all the import paperwork and brokerage fees.

whoa!? $119, they go for ~$50 in the US??

Thanks Farmboy but I like the look of the original better.

The price difference is due to the paper work and fees involved with exporting stuff out of the US. Never compare US pricing with Canadian pricing. Brownells won't ship you one because SEI is not registered with the US State Dept. I talked to them at SHOT show last year and they weren't too keen on exporting stuff.

Apparently, you missed my sarcasm above. All you're doing is regurgitate what you've heard and has no basis in fact. There's no way a simple component like this takes a 100% mark-up to get it accross the border, even if you ordered just (1) of these.

The dealers here make relatively large orders so they can spread the shipping/import costs over a larger number of items so the price increase due to these costs is relatively minimal. A +$50 mark-up on a $50 part has nothing to do with costs - it's greed.

SEI is registered to export to Canada, but flash hiders aren't allowed. I just got an SEI hooded gas lock front sight and socom gas plug from Brownells who special ordered them from SEI for me. I talked to SEI about a year ago, and they had a deal in the works to get a Canadian distributer, but that fell thru simply because they are up to their ass in alligators trying to fill their government commitments and the Canadian market just isn't big enough.

Those are not very hard to make, Can believe no one in Canada is making them yet.

I made this one for buddy ar10, he love it and want 2 more, look like flash hider but also act like brake, work very well!

They range between $90 to $110 up hear. I to long for the days of the Dlask NVA's flash hidders. I had them on everything.:(

So everyone who has one in Canada bought it here as well? Find it hard to believe.

Got mine from a Canadian gun dealer and I think it was $68.

Went to see the dealer that I got that Vortex from. It was indeed $68. Just bought his last one today for $85 and he even mounted it on my 10.5" barrel.

Agreed. Some of the prices I see I just shake my head. When the vast majority of your customers don't understand the process and costs of importing you can pretty much charge what you like.

As far as the Vortex goes, SEI is registered as an exporter so that is not the issue. The issue is that the Vortex is controlled by the State Department and subject to ITAR regulations.
