Hey guys I would seriously love to hear everybody's animal bucket list. I made mine when I was a young man with no money and truly thought it was unattainable. I have however been quite successful in business and have attained all of my original list and have had to re-vamp my list several times now.
My original list and why is as follows;

Elephant...................................Largest land mammal
Marco Polo sheep.......................Longest horned sheep in the world
Altai Argali sheep.......................Largest sheep in the world
Dall sheep.................................Pure white, white animals are rare in nature
Polar Bear.................................Beautiful and pure white again.
Leopard....................................Secretive and spotted, also cool.
Cape Buffalo.............................Toughest brawler out there
Mountain Goat...........................Third pure white animal in NA

To these I have added and attained;

Bison........................................Largest land mammal in NA
Walrus......................................Largest mammal we can hunt in NA
Eland........................................Largest antelope in the world
Sable Antelope...........................Most regal antelope in the world
Ibex.........................................Longest horned goat in the world
Muskox.....................................Cause the're cool and it's a cold ugly hunt

New list not yet attained;

Markhor..................................Have to sign a waiver for your safety, $100K
Jaguar....................................Virtually impossible CITIES 1
Bongo.....................................Probably too old, real ugly hunt
Lord Derby Eland.......................Doable, largest antelope on the planet
Royal Antelope..........................Doable, smallest horned animal in the world
Desert Bighorn..........................Doable $85K

So lets hear what everyone else considers the ultimate animal and why, and complete bucket lists if money were no issue.

Not really the same but, on my list to do one day...

Follow the waterfowl migration south. Starting up in the Yukon and follow the migration down to Mexico. Hunting all along the way. Basically a five month hunting trip with a road trip thrown in!

You know... I love waterfowling... And never thought of that... Cool

That's cool I too love shooting birds, unfortunately bird hunting in the Yukon sucks, they are mostly gone before season opens.

Superbrad, I was thinking, might as well extend it down to Chile and Argentina too. From what I've read, some real good waterfowling down there too.

That is a pretty cool idea actually

It's funny how those bucket lists work. It starts with the pipe dreams of youth when it all seems so utterly impossible given the cost -- until one day, you realize you'll run out of time before you run out of money...

Highlights of the list behind me would be grizzly, wolf, mountain lion, leopard, and cape buffalo. Things still on the list ahead would be African lion (have a hunt booked for lioness 19 months from now, not that I'm counting...), elephant, hippo, croc, and spotted hyena. Of all of that though, the thing I'm most looking forward to is the day my young son shoots his first grouse, which will hopefully have the same effect on him that it had on me :D

No doubt... Gotta be a real waterfowl huntert for that... It's amazing how much true fun and good meat folks can miss chasing bigger game... Emphasis being on fun

I live in BC,so local goals first.
1-Goat
2-Grizz
3-cougar
4-I would like to JET BOAT all the major rivers in BC, Yukon and Alaska, and hunt for...
(Not in this order)

International,
1-Warthog!
2-Hyena
3-Brown bear (Russia)
4-Alligator

I'm an old guy and don't know how to post pics, sorry. If someone could help me out here I'd be happy to give you some pics. You're right it's all so much bulls$$t without pics, just have no idea how to do it, and I'm very computer challenged. Why Not? is a good buddy of mine and he knows how to do it I'll call him tomorrow and see if he can help me out. The rest of you include pics if you got 'em, the more the better.

forum

When thinking of my own mortality, I have no desire to kill anything. Nothing on my bucket list.

This is a hunting forum,(look at the header) for those of us who hunt, to kick around ideas and wishes and problems, and get advice etc. etc. etc.................
If you are a non hunter I respect that choice, but I question why you would opine on this thread? Greenpeace is on a completely different website, perhaps you should opine there !!!!

My list right now would be

Driven birds in the UK
Driven Boars in hungary
Wild boars in the states (acheivable)
A good field duck or goose hunt in the praries

although for me right now just hunting locally and getting game at home is good enough so my at home bucket list is

get some whitetails (Bow gun car whatever)
Get my Bear
and continue to improve duck hunting and get a few more grouse

Out live my ole lady.

Seriously, learn to shoot with both eyes open.
Left eye dominant and right hand shooter.
Maybe need to poke out me right eye and
for sure have to shoot left handed.

I think my bucket list would centre more around the hunting experience than on a specific species. That said I would love to be able to hunt these spots before I kick, if only I could afford them:

- Alaska or the Yukon (Mountain Cariboo or Moose)
- B.C. (Sheep,Goats and Coastal Black Bear)
- Siberia (???? the experience would be awesome)

More realistic hunts would be:

Colorado or New Mexico for Elk/Mule Deer
Wyoming or Montana for Antelope
Newfoundland (Caribou/Moose/Black bear)

I love the wild places so although there might be some cool African hunts they have never intrigued me as much as North America. Sheep or Goat hunting in Asia would be a great experience but totally unaffordable for most.
