NEA non-restricted black rifle coming?

They have hinted at it in another thread. I think someone started a thread similar to this in their forum.

Does NEA have a non-restricted black rifle coming for us Canadians?

I hope not, at least for their sake. IMHO they should focus on evolving their AR platform, delivering all levels of it, and polishing it into raw ###. Only after that would I hope they'd work on an NR rifle.

If they *DID* however... I'd like to see a budget Swiss arms type upper with the Swiss lower they built already. Seems to me that would be a very practical route since it is part way there already.

I like the sound of that....I would actually consider a "swiss" if they did.
To clarify: Swiss makes a beautiful rifle but I believe it to be tactically flawed. I repeat they are fine rifles, just never cared for some of the controls...awkwardish for such a piece of quality.

I hope so. When the 10.5" NEA gets here, its going to get lonely, esp. with its neighbours being a loudmouth Norinco shotty and a "I wish I was cool" Savage Axis.
It'll need some company.

I'm not in the ar-180b crowd. As much as it is a nice rifle, i'd like to see a new design. Wouldn't it be cooler? our very own unique, homegrown, non-restricted black rifle?

Who feels like betting?

Come on let me feel the fiber of your fabric.
& no like the insider him self Stevo states it won't be until there ready to ship.
:nest:

No need to re-invent the wheel - I'd go for a line by line copy of the 180, with a billet upper and lower and an 18.55 inch barrel. An integrated top rail would be nice, as would a full quad rail. The rest could be as AR 15 compatible as humanly possible, to keep costs down.

I doubt they'd announce anything in advance given the whining and speculation that would ensue on these boards.
