As much as I like the G17...my most favorite is the G34. The G34 is a competition model use in IPSC stock class, because it fits inside the IDPA box, and the lenght & balance of a service pistol, so it serves both practial and tactical.
Are those Trijicon HD on left and TFO on right? Which are you preferring?

21=Always wanted one since I was a kid,Will buy a brand new Gen 3 21 eventually.
But the original is still the best. Im never selling mine. Got my Black Badge with it and it will be doing some competitions this spring. Im going to shoot the #### out of it, retire it and buy a Gen 4 in a few years.

All are perfection. Can't pick one really. G17 Gen 3 would be my vote to a first time glock buyer though. I shoot the 22 and love it alot.

13. Can we use Glock models 34 and 35 in Production Division?
Glock in their own advertising call them "long slides". They are special sporting handguns with a lighter trigger pull (3.5 lbs) and a longer barrel (135mm) out of the box. Maximum barrel length in Production Division is 127 mm (5").
The Production Division does not include special sporting models like the Glock 34 and 35, or the H&K USP Expert, or the Sig Sauer Sport II series if they differ in barrel length from the standard model (Glock 17, Sig Sauer 226, H&K USP).
"Production" does not necessarily mean that all pistols which are currently in production are legal for use in this division.

Hmm interesting poll results so far - I would have bet against the G17 coming out on top.
Reason being that out of the box I don't think it is the BEST glock because;
1 - it does need the extended slide release for ease of use
2 - the extended mag release is nice ( not really needed )
3- no options on caliber size 9mm can't go up but .40 or .45 even the 357 can go down to the 9mm
4 - triggers are usually redone to a better pull on a G17 were the 34 or 35 comes factory better
5 - 9mm is great but 10mm / 40 or 45 puts a bigger smile on my face
6 - sight radius is better on a long slide
7 - accuracy is better on a 34 or 35 with the barrel rifling / longer slide combo
8 - glocks website says " G35 dominates the Limited Class of competitive shooting sports worldwide"
not against the G17 - LOVE IT actually , but the BEST GLOCK ( money not an option ) I didn't think so

there seems to be allot of threads about there new G22 and G35 but these are not rating very high in this poll
curious to see what people are thinking of "other" because that's #2 beating out G34 / G35 / G22 - well everything but G17 -- so what's "other" mean to those of you that voted

guess the G17 is going to win out in this poll - I know it's the most popular , but would have figured a higher caliber like the 40 or 45 would win with the fun factor as well as the ability to conver to a 9mm barrell - sorta the best of both worlds, where as the 9mm can't go up in caliber .
not to mention the G34 & G35 have better triggers and better mag/slide release.
Remember - cost of ammo was NOT a factor in this , just simply - what IS the best glock * G17* it is

Is the IPSC standard division much more competitive than production? Too much for a beginner? I knew the G34 qualified for USPSA production and ASSUMED (My bad) IPSC would be the same.
Now I have to rethink my upcoming purchase...G34 = IDPA + USPSA production + IPSC standard or should I go G17 = IDPA + USPSA production + IPSC production.
Sorry to get a little off track, I just need some advice.
