SHOT SHOW 2012 - Robarms XCR-M 308 Rifle

I stopped in and spoke with Alex. He's very personable....and yes....passionate.
Why is it that when people are vanilla, that we blast them for being boring, but when they speak their mind, they're a$$es?

To the point- he said that the new stock (folding/telescopic slide rail) has been approved for Canada. Apparently Wolverine wants to buy them all.
Very fun!

any updates on the first XCRs from him? just curious.

The RA booth is tiny. I missed it at first, walked right past it, then went looking for it later.

Alex was absolutely polite and respectful to me as well. Where did the idea that he is rude come from?

He told me that the folding stock IS approved for export to Canada.

Photos up when I get home.

Does this new version also have a fixed stock option? I like the skeleton stocks better as much as I'm probably the minority there.

IIRC it locks in the folded position. Great look....and has a real comfortable weight.

+1 to Alex - he's kinda bad ass ;)

We're lucky to have an 'AR' type rifle that can go to more places than just a range. I don't know about you, but my rifles get cagey if I don't take them out for walks.

Excellent news!! Wolverine will get my updated order to include the stock and ambi mag release kit.

Alex said these were not approved 2011.10.25 (via email):

We cannot ship the stocks to Canada. The US government will not approve it for export for anyone but LE/MIL.

Sincerely,

Give us a freaking break & that is so typical of the knowledge levels of those that spew against the XCR its a orange juice bottle...

:p

I agree, this new version is better (cosmetically, atleast), it's nice to see a company improve. If it runs good, it might be a nice bush gun alternative. The price of $2599 isn't too bad either, atleast it's under 3k

Ya, rally guys. This is getting silly.

Everybody should know by now that the XCR uses blue or red loctite.:D

Or... it could be the new "orange" experimental loctite. It makes sense they would secretly introduce it for their biggest customers. 308 might require a new formula!!! Or it's the new orange "Hunter" formula so when the pieces fall off while hunting you can follow them back home.

:p

All joking aside the XCR-M does look at least externally like they have made a few nice changes. It will be interesting to see how they shoot. That sucks that the stock isn't exportable. I think that change alone was a good one.
