GSG or SIG?

i own both the gsg 1911 and the sig 226 classic. both have over 2000 rounds and no problems.

I would go with the better feel in your hand. Price, in the long run, will not matter. Save and get the pistol that suits you best.

The GSG 1911 .22 and a norinco 1911 45acp are around 800 after taxes. The sig 226 classic and 9mm conversion kit are about 1050$ after taxes.

I used Armco, out of prince george BC for my gsg/norinco - he is the best for tuning the norinco's.

I used questar for the sig products. They are great to deal with, and when it comes to sig, you can't beat their prices.

Another .22 I have owned and love was the berreta neos. with a red dot and a longer barrel, and only about 400 -before the red dot - it is a tac-driver. It is very different from other pistols and is not a good training for full size use pistol.

my next .22 pistol will be the new S&W MP .22 pistol. I have not seen it in Canada yet, but finger crossed. Only read and seen good things about it. And I am a huge M&P series fan, from rifles to pistols.

I hope that helped.

as a side note, action targets is a company from the USA that has a .22 dueling tree. I just bought one, and I have way too much fun at the range with it. They are worth checking out. It was about 170 shipped to victoria, bc. Talk to Chad for international sales. He is a great guy to deal with - but he is often a very busy man.

I have the GSG 1911. Fun to shoot and customer service is one of the best. SIG, from what I saw on the web looks identical to GSG except for branding. Browning is a reputable company but also new to 1911-22 platform. So as Colt and Chiappa. For $ 100 less, and a good customer support (thanks to Blueline), I will go GSG with no hesitation.

Ryan,

Here's a stupid question. What if someone bought a Sig 1911-22 and needed a warranty part or just a replacement part. Would you sell (give) them one if they are in a bind.

Hello Jackrabbit000,

We do not do any of the warranty work for SIG. However, if there is something Blue Line could help you out with I'm sure we would be more than happy to try. We just received "Spare Parts Kits" for the GSG 1911 which contain all of your springs, recoil buffers, firing pin and things of that nature for GSG's out of warranty. These will be up for sale shortly on our site and at your local dealer. Please call the store or send us a PM and I will see what I can do to help you out. 604-552-8830

I'm resurrecting this thread  (Now the 2nd breakage)

As stated above, my guide rod failed and so did my friends.

Dear Rob,

There could be a few things that can cause the guide rod to break.

1) Its the older model (Before they changed it)
2) Improper install (caught on barrel)
3) Not using polymer washer and spacer (puts more tension on the spring)

GSG has redesigned the GSG a few times to solve the issues by changing a few parts. I will have to take photos so everyone can see what the new parts should look like and to insure proper install.

Best regards,
Scott

The only thing I did not like about it is the safety is to chunky on the left side, replaced it with a nicer safety.

Nitron?

I think i saw a post from the shot show that showed a newer version of the Sig .22 finished in their nitron coating. Maybe worth holding out a bit if the price isn't crazy. anyone have any idea when we might see these?

is the frame made of steel?
the reason i ask is dlask has a nice looking .45 complete slide for $500 i think
