looking to start building an AR, need to find noveske lower

I want to slowly start putting an ar together. Where can I find a stripped noveske lower for a reasonable price?

Any reason why you want Noveske in particular? Not questioning your choice, it's just that there are others of good quality for a reasonable price... or really nice ones for a higher price...

You can't.

After doing some research on what they sell for here I see that you're right. Do you have any other suggestions? I don't understand why they're so expensive. In the US they are 250, and others I've seen are like 100-150. I don't really want to spend more than 250, seems like a waste of money to spend 500 bucks on a hunk of metal.

What about LMT? Can you even get stripped LMT lowers?

I think again, like the Noveske... they're probably gonna be a little on the pricey side. Spike Tactical or Aero Precision comes to mind they can be had at (Questar and Arms East respectively).

I got the Spikes from Questar and they're really nice. IMO I think they're a great bang for the buck, just install a Daniel Defence LPK and you'll be good to go

Crane: Aw’right, now, in terms of receivers, upper and lower receivers, are you doin’ your own lowers, or are you usin’ other people’s lower and upper, or what?

Noveske: Most of the MILSPEC parts, I contract out. And, I use a lot of different shops based on who makes the best of that component. Like, one place makes my bolts and another place makes my carriers, and it’s because…it has nothing to do with money. It’s which ones I like better. And, right now, I feel that as far as the MILSPEC parts go, I couldn’t do better. They’re just excellent. I get ‘em in volume. I’ve got my purchase orders in to January ’09. Everything is just hunky-dory.

Crane: Who’s doin’ your lowers?

Noveske: The lowers on our rifles are made by CMT [Continental Machine and Tool]. We had some made by LAR [LAR Manufacturing, Inc.] with a B prefix on the serial number, but that was a limited production run. We have a PO into another company, but it will depend on approval of the samples.

Crane: What about your upper receiver?

Noveske: I have uppers made for me by CMT for MILSPEC and then, of course, the VIS and MUR are made by Vltor.

Thanks all. I'm either going to hold off a bit and get a Noveske (tempting), or go with the Spikes just to get building.

At first i was looking for a Noveske lower as well, but then got tired of looking, and got a Cadex CDX-15 instead.. and now i'm very happy that i did.. it is a fantastic lower...

Well...if you're stuck on a billet lower than the Cadex seems very nice (Dmitri's rifle above is definitely sweet). Or you could also see if Questar could get their hands on Spikes billet lower...that one is also pricey but a work of art (made by Seekins Precision if memory serves). I have Spikes billet set and it's absolutely gorgeous.
