I know this has been mentioned a few times about ordering parts from in the US. I had said that Havlins and Numrich will no longer sell to Canada. Some however had said they recently ordered and received parts from Numrich. Well, to update, I just placed an order for a few items and I got the same response as last summer, that being the order is on hold. Which checking on meant they won't sell to Canadians. So more power to those of you who actually get something from them.

I just ordered some stuff on Monday. It always says "on hold" while they gather up your order. It will change to in progress and shipped in a few days. Just give it a while, I imagine with all the frenzied buying down there right now that they are really busy.

I hope so. But last time it said that, I finally checked on it after about 5 days. I received an email that said it was on hold because it was a Canadian order. Then they told me because it was a Canadian order, it was cancelled. Hope this time is different.

Numrich will check your order against a list of no go parts. If its not on the list it ships, if it is on the list your order gets flushed.

I just questioned my order being cancelled and received a reply back saying they will accept the order only if the parts are shipped to Canada. I wanted them shipped to my brother in Minnesota but they will not do that. Funny that Brownells will. Different policy I guess.

I was a little worried because I just put in an order from them. After 3 days I checked the status and it said it was... "Put on hold".

I had ordered a Safety and Cocking Piece for a M38 Swede. I thought it might go under the category of bolt assemblies and on their site it says "The United States Government has export restrictions in place for items such as barrels, barrel blanks, bolt assemblies..."

Just checked my email a few minutes ago... "Your order has been shipped". :D

What kind of parts are you ordering?

I ordered a firing pin and a couple magazines from them once, no problems.

most smart companies will not ship an order taken from Canada to be shipped to a nother location in the usa. There thinking that your going to have it sent or brought across and if it can be trace back to them as the seller there on the hook with you

If you want to ship it to your brother, then have your brother order it with a US credit card.

I thought of that long ago but I have no desire to invovle someone else's credit card on internet purchases when it has nothing to do with them. He is also one of those who rarely buys anything off the net. So I guess if I want stuff from them bad enough I will get it shipped here.

Why wouldn't you just have it sent to you in the first place?:confused:

Do you have your brothers address listed on your credit card as a shipping address?I ran into this problem last year when ordering dirt bike parts from cali. and having them shipped to Fla. where my parents are.The one company I called said they wouldn't ship to another address other my home.
I called another company and they told me to call the credit card/bank and have my parents address added as a shipping address.
No problems now.

And if you have the parts sent to a US address, how will the parts be legally exported from the US?

USA BATF and ITAR regulations restrict the exporting of barrels, receivers and cylinders from the USA... but other small parts fall under the trade exception clause 123.17 (see quote below);

§ 123.17 Exports of Firearms and Ammunition
(a) Except as provided in § 126.1 of this subchapter, Port Directors of U.S. Customs and Border Protection shall permit the export without a license of components and parts for Category I(a) firearms, except barrels, cylinders, receivers (frames) or complete breech mechanisms when the total value does not exceed $100 wholesale in any transaction.

The good news is that this has recently changed and the maximum retail value amount has been increased to $500... it is still unclear if the restriction on barrels and cylinders has been lifted... I suspect not.

I ordered to laminated forends for H&R rifles from Numrich, since Boyd's was out of stock... the package arrived in eight days... not a single hiccup. I have ordered from Numrich many times over the years, and never had a problem getting it shipped to Canada.

$25 "handling" fee on foreign orders. F*ck that pisses me off.

Me too, especially when it is only a $30.00 order. That's why I wanted them sent to my brother's place. I was going down there in a couple of weeks. If I was ordering a couple of hundred dollars worth of parts then the $25.00 wouldn't be so bad to have them sent here, but I don't need that much right now.

I placed an order from Numrich on Jan 12 and it has shipped but not arrived. It was a big loop lever for a Marlin 336. I called and spoke with the international slales rep on the phone about 2 weeks after placing the order. She informed me that it is most likely held up in customs and that 3-4 is an average wait time. Seriously? A month , what in the world do they do at customs anyway.
