Well, after years of waiting, the XCR-M is finally here. Mr Postman dropped it off this afternoon, and look, the box isn't even dented:

Now for a picture of the gun, case, and included contents, which in my case, was 1 magazine, the invoice and an extra bolt hold open, for my XCR-L. One thing that should be noted, and I will be calling Wolverine Supply tomorrow about, is NO manual was included. I am sure Wolverine will square this away, as they have for me time, and time, again.

Bit more of a close up of the rifle. One thing that should be noted in this photo is the amount of which the lower separates from the upper. This is considerably more than the -L version. To me, the increased opening is a HUGE pro, especially for helping with clearing jams and cleaning.

Bottom view, with the stock folded. What should be noted here, is the tight spacing between the side of the firearm, and the inside of the stock. While trigger access is still possibly, with some minor restriction, access to the magazine release is quite limited, even impossible. The stock apparently can shift vertically by removal of some hex bolts, which I have yet to tinker with, but perhaps this will solve the access issue. This is with the stock fully extended, and I have not tried with fully collapsed yet...

Robarms completely revised the bolt/carrier/firing pin assembly. Additionally, the carrier is now completely machined (read, one piece), where as the past iteration on the -L was 2 pieces welded together, as per the two pictures below:

Robinson Arms changed up the engraving for the firing controls, WICKED!

Finally, a family photo, XCR-M on the top, the XCR-L on the bottom...

Anyways, overall thoughts of the rifle, and design, are quite good. I would have to say that the rifle is definitely heavier than the XCR-L, which is to be expected, I guess. It seems to have been built much, much better than the XCR-L, and doesn't seem as "loose". Sights included from the factory are Midwest Industries, the same as the XCR-L.

Anyways, now I am off to the range to try this sucker out. For tonight's visit, I will be going to an indoor range, on the weekend, hoping to make it outside, probably shooting at 100m (restricted at the range). On Family Day weekend, I will be trying to stretch this out, and really trying the accuracy with a variety of ammo.

Anyways, I will put some additional pictures up here at some point following a range visit, and maybe some video. If you have any questions, fire away! (pun intended :))

Happy shooting!

So, I just returned home from the shooting range. I brought with me, 160 rounds of ammo, 60 rounds of South African surplus, stampede R1M1, and 100 rounds of reloads, more on these later.

I decided to start out the night with shooting the SA ammo, since I figured it has been tried and true, and there should be no issues. As you can see from the pictures, I have a Vortex Strikefire, which I mounted onto the rifle about quarter of the way through the range visit. The reason for adding on the Vortex so soon was that after approximately 20 or 25 rounds, I noticed the front site was loose, and I unfortunately did not have a screw driver with me. Once I noticed it was loose, pulled it off using a coin/fingers, and ran with the vortex.

Magazines used tonight were exclusively 20rnd PMAGS.

Pictures of the configuration:

Unfortunately, I managed to run through my SA ammo pretty darn quickly, but as you can see from the pictures below, things did not turn out too badly. Target distance was at 25m to 35m....I know, I should have done better with my shooting, and with consistent round groupings, but I figured for this exercise, we could ignore that.

Now, after I was down to my last 5 rounds of SA ammo, I decided to switch over to my reloads. About 2 rounds in, a FTF occured. After trying to eject the round (did not want to POGO inside), I managed to get the live rounds viciously lodged in the ejection port. Pics below:

After dislodging with some pulling, and assistance from a hex key, I managed to get the round out from the rifle. After this occurred, I attempted to use my reloads with the same affects; absolutely dismal, with frequent failures.

Being extremely disgruntled, I decided to buy 2 boxes cheap MFS Brand 150 gr ammo. After loading these up, letting the rifle take a 3 minute knee, tried these. All 40 rounds ran like a top, not one issue at all.

Upon arrival back home, I have checked most of the screws, and with the exception of the front site, not a single one needed tightening.

Other than the failure to fires, failure to ejects and failure to feeds, all which I firmly believe were symptoms of poor reloads, the XCR-M ran absolutely fantastically - for the 100 rounds of factory/surplus ammo fired. MY RELOADS, not so much.

In the coming days, I will be further diagnosing my reloads, and going from there. Will be shooting it out to 100m this weekend (as far as the range goes), then out further the weekend after, so it will be interesting to see how that goes.

Keep the questions coming, I will answer them shortly.'

Safe & Happy Shooting, I know I sure had a great time tonight :D

YAY!

Its good to see them here, and those accuracy pics were insane!

I might have to get one despite the outrageous price tag

EDIT: good to see you got out and shot er! too bad about the reloads!

Very nice and would be nice to hunt with...only thing that makes me hesitate is thinking that possibly the gestapo will reclassify it to restricted in the future. There was a time (not that long ago)when in Canada you could take a HK-91 out hunting.
cheers

WTF?
I emailed Robinson Arms about the stock for my -L and they said they couldn't import the new folding stock yet. I thought the XCR-M rifles were being imported with pinned stocks?
