My new .308?

Picked this up for a personal project. Having trouble deciding on a chambering. Thinking .308, also what do you guys think of the color? I originally planned on doing a desert camo scheme because I had to do a repair on the cheek piece and thought I was repainting but the repair is well hidden so undecided on paint now. I have a twist fluted bbl coming to go on a it and a badger brake. I'm liking the look with possibly a black ceracoated short 20-22" bbl in .308. It has vbull bottom metal on it to take AI mags already installed which was a plus. The action is .308 BF so staying with that. I have a .260, just want something new to play with.

I'm thinking I might like to try a 6.5 at some point. Might be 6.5x55 for me since I have a long action kicking around. OTOH I do love my 308's...oh the dilemma. Cool stock though!
 
Set up for 155 grain hybrids, you can throat it so that the they'll mag feed and shouldnt run into problems with taking up case capacity.
 
That little voice inside you is telling you 6.5-284, Then tells us how the range report went.
A nice 30 inch finished Krieger barrel chambered in 6.5-284. Launching 139gr scenars out to a mile. I'm convinced.
 
Whoa whoa whoa! Where did you get that stock? I like it a lot!
As for cartridge choice, I like the 7mm-08. Or.... 6mm br, fast twist 223..... So many choices.

After that the 6.5x47 lapua is next on the list. Have fun choosing.

That stock was a steal on the EE at one time. It originally sold for 500$ with the bottom metal. Unfortunately I was not so lucky.
