I searched to no avail.

I am interested in an SU16 but I would like the specific butt-stock from the SU16C model pictured below.

Is there anywhere here in Canada to buy this folder? Is it importable? Anyone have one installed on theirs?

That doesn't look like the Canadian stock. Or even the Canadian gun. The Canadian gun, the 16F, appears to have the trigger group swing with the open stock. That one pictured, can be fired with the stock folded. Likely why our gun doesn't come that way.

*Faceplam*

Thats how they f**king come.

I got excited when I saw I had a reply to my post, then I went and actually read it.
That is not how they "f**KING" come here in Canada.
Anything intelligent, informative or otherwise relevant to post?
*FACEPLAM* right back atcha!

I think you may still be able to work a "non-restricted classification" with that SU-16C stock and the Canadian 18.5" barrel....:yingyang:

In fact  , I'm liking the look of that SU-16 setup !...

Is this a no-no for import?
I can't think of a non-restricted semi that won't fire when folded. VZ-58, XCR etc. will all fire folded
And there's no way the "C" model is shorter than the "F" when folded.
Never a dull moment dealing with the classification "logic" or lack thereof.

I've never even handled an SU-16 yet, but I would seriously consider buying one if I could get that specific butt-stock set-up.
I fire my others semis folded sometimes for s**ts'n'gigs...I'd at least like to have that ability with the SU16.
Simply-put it appears to be the more versatile configuration between the two.

The Su-16C with a 16-inch barrel has a 25.5" OAL when folded...:yingyang:...I can't see why the Canadian model - with its 18.5" barrel :) - would fail to be "non-restricted" even with the SU-16C stock ?....

Contact Vault direct and tell them the local store you will be purchasing your rifle from. Then just stop by and grab it. Simple as that. Although we are not allowed the cool looking gas block sights.

To lazy to look, but your can buy the C model stock for like 70 bucks, and put it on any model of the SU16!!! Thats what i plan to do!

Someone on here has that stock, bought from kel-tec.

Well that's encouraging. I'm going to E-mail Kel-Tec and see what they have to say about shipping it here but I have a feeling I know the answer.
I did browse their sites FAQ's but couldn't find anything useful there.
I'll let everyone know what they say.

Once you do this you could be opening up pandora's box man, taking an unrestricted black rifle in .223 (5.56) and placing a stock that allows it to be fired in a folded configuration could make it a restricted firearm (don't know the specs on it's length at that point) could make it a big deal if that model is illegal (prohib) more information after my morning coffee and some google work.

As for buying one like that, I talked to a sponsored dealer on CGN on the phone and they said the only model imported to canada is your pictured 16F model.

***"The SU-16F is the Canadian version of the SU16A. Kel-Tec did manufacture a SU-16A2 for us to submit to the CFR as they requested. The thing is the US Department Of State wanted a different model designation for the export of SU-16 for Canada, Oh.. and they rejected the 5.56mm due to the military caliber. So.. the sample SU-16A wasn't shipped to us.

In January Kel-Tec will re apply for a export permit with the Department Of State for the SU-16F in .223 Rem for the Canadian market. If the permit is approved Kel-Tec will start to build the F version for us in early February. Vault has already had to book the order for F's with Kel-Tec hoping all will go well. A bit of a gamble, but its what we had to do. When the rifles are completed, Vault will then send a sample of the new SU-16F version to the CFR in Canada for re classification.

Thats the update for you all. "

-From the Vault Forum

It looks like importing this stock won't be allowed because they don't allow the same gun to come with this stock into Canada :(***

There is no way you would be under 660mm 26" inches OAL folded with the C model butt-stock on an F model.

Understand that I have no interest in purchasing the SU16C, I only want the butt-stock to put on our F model.

By your logic my CZ858's and XCR are prohibs because they fire folded, other semi auto firearms both centerfire and shotguns come to mind that have folders and barrels over 18.5" as well.
I realize you are trying to be helpful but when it comes to legal issues I wish people would research before posting.
I fully realize that the SU16C is not imported now or in the foreseeable future.

The previous vault response you quoted has to do with the SU-16A
that has the same stock our SU16F has. Not a thing to do with the C model stock is mentioned there.
The guns were rejected for export because of calibre markings and/or threaded barrel - depending on model.
Not a thing to do with the C model stock.

If Kel-tec will ship the stock to Canada. Or a dealer in Canada starts carrying them like they do the AR style stock adapter,
the classification of the SU-16A will not change unless the overall length of the rifle drops below 26" while folded - which I highly doubt it would.
Even if it would drop below 26" OAL, it still does not change whether or not the stock is allowed into Canada,
as the only stocks regulated in Canada are bulpups which are specifically mentioned by name(characteristic).
