Wow, kiwi gun nuts are paying big $$$ for guns. A Norinco AR-15 is going for $2,132.00 in Canadian dollars and thats with a stupid thumbhole stock and no bayonet lug. If you browse all their guns everything is expensive. $245.00 Cdn for a 30rd AR mag. Does anyone know do they have the same stupid laws that we do. I know they can own all sorts of cool guns and hi-cap mags but are they restricted to the range like we are.

I doubt they are selling many at that price. You can get a Stag, Anderson or Remington AR for the same price now, and in the next few days the NEA rifles should be here starting at $1999 which is cheap for our prices. I payed $2790 for my RRA Elite Operator, and it is far more gun than a Norc. Gun City are a bit of a joke among Kiwi shooters, they are smoking crack if they think people here will buy Chinese AR's at that price when for the same or less you can get an American or Canadian AR15. We pay more for everything, but if given the choice, how many Canuck shooters would be willing to get a little more raped $ wise if you were able to hunt with your AR and shoot it where ever you want? Something we still enjoy.

why are the prices so out of whack, is there a special tax on guns in NZ

It's funny that suppressors are Taboo in Canada or other places, there is absolutely no restrictions on them here, almost everybody who has a gun license has a suppressed rifle of some kind now, even if it's just a suppressed .22LR. The sky here doesn't fall and babies don't die because of it either. There is no logic in restricting them, if anything they are safety devices.

It is a contentious topic here concerning prices. I personally put most of it down to greed. I can understand you have to eat but some retailers put a 400% markup on some products (I #### you not). Switched on shooters buy their gear from overseas. There is no special tax on firearms. Yes we have a small market, but I find that a pathetic excuse.

Yes, but your getting raped on ammo to. So those luxuries you enjoy I can't see you doing allot of it.

Wages are not that great unless you live in say the top 20%? I'm not 100% sure but if your working class like me you tend to get screwed badly. And a big thank you to NEA for giving a damn. I'm hoping to have my 14.5" soon. They on the plane yet?
